You do need a CRN (Customer reference number) this is normally your licence number or proof of age card number. Without one of these I believe you are unable to carry out any business in relation to registration.

You believe wrong... Of course you can register a car without any sort of licence or 18+ Card.

Just need to prove who you are (e.g Birth Certificate)

No Riverside is correct. You do need a CRN which is either your licence number, or proof of a business.

You can have a licence from another state. You create a "profile" with qt then get someone to verify the qld garaging address for the car. Standard form. Did it with my first skyline when I was on nsw licence.

Hey champ, go look on your 18+ card.

See where it has "card number"?

Guess what?

That's your CRN / License number. :oopsie:

But you knew this already.

Hey Champ,

Way to point out the obvious :mamoru:

Question to you is, What was the point in that?

He never said he had an 18+ Card until after I posted.

im not 100% sure but the gumbyment see it as if you dont have a licence then you dont need it registered, to put it simply. its just like the bullshit of trying to buy a car when your suspended. car yards wont sell you a car if youve been suspended unless you register it to a business

You dont need a licence to register a car. I registered my first car in my name when i was 16 but before i could even get my learners. You just need to provide the required id.

you will not be able to register a vehicle unless you have a CRN number, this is a customer reference number. This is how you regardless of name are identified in the QLD transport computer system.

You can obtain a CRN number with appropriate identification. You will need an address in qld that you can use as an address at which you reside when in qld. This is where they have tightened the laws recently. You will need a form from the main tennant of the house signed, stating that when in qld this is where you stay. You will then be issued with a CRN number, this will not be any type of license and in most cases you will not receive any type of card with this number. In most cases the number is stored in the system with your details. I suggest asking for this number and noting it down as it will be usefull for future dealings with qt

I deal with this stuff every day and have for the last 10 yrs.
