Your probably right but I did go for a shiny look, well maybe I mean sparkly when you mean ACTUALLY shiny like forehead shiny?

OT: The light reflects off him and he looks like he's greasy or sweaty. The shadows seem to contrast the light on the left side of his face which is giving that effect. Personally i like the soft skin effect, where it's all light. (Unless im going for a evil look) but it seems that it's half in between, which is somehow making him shiney...If that makes sense haha

Well skin always has oil so rims are often very hit (shiny) but he does have a little shine on his face, his right cheek and above his right eye which I think would just be skin.

If this is the issue you have I'm pretty stoked that's the most someone would nitpick about it as your clients complexion is something you cant really control without an MUA. He was also after a more contrasty image, I shot more evenly lit flat images but I agree with him that the contrast really gives it some kick, even makes it a little 3d.

Thing is, basically I wanted to kick the shit out of these images with no studio, location speedlighting/strobing. Do you think I bettered the pro or do you prefer his image?

I use webcity for hosting and domain purchase. Give them a try :) Atleast you know they are an Australian company. I get all my clients on them :P

All working again, 1/2hr on hold and hung up because I had work to do. 2 call outs today, one because the new dude wouldn't be able to do the work today (supposed to be my one day off this week) and the other was a bank server in the city. 5 hours, sheesh!

QLD technical lead for break-fix 'IT' company working on IBM contracts to be suitably vague yet descriptive at the same time ;D


Hopefully some movement in the ranks shortly and I'll stitch up the service delivery supervisor for the state, essentially 10% more office work, 50% less field work and 10% payrise.

On the hosting thing - I use Crucial Paradigm http://www.crucial.com.au/ on the reseller plan 3. It's fuckin GREAT value when I signed up, I pay bi-yearly and the bill is always under $250.

Ah was just curious thats all. I do support/network admin as my full-time job. Hoping to quit one day and do photography full-time... Hopefully i can make it happen lol..

Anyways yea wouldn't mind a new I.T job with more pay.

Mines in PERFECT condition, plastic bags and all in the box so HAH. It'll get snapped up on ausphotography.com anyway so I'm not totally fussed, i just gotta reach the 100 post minimum. Currently spamming haha.

Wayne, yeah I could but.. eh. Just recharged the 3G modem so should be fine. router is already set up and so is the dsl router, telstra just keep screwing us around getting the dsl connected there because we have cable here and apparently it's hard to do, you know, connecting services these people do all day every day.. COME ON@!
