whisper quiet when closed; just sounds like you've got an exhaust leak.
i wouldnt advise booting it when the butterfly is closed unless you want to be blowing exhaust and manifold gaskets.

my mate has one on his 2jz s15. it runs a 4 inch dump, no cat, no muffler and just a xforce varex cannon on the back... i thinks its the E muffler. anyway its loud as wen open, foot long flames and shit but when close, quite as, like stock... awesome but like said above dont boost it when closed... its not good for anything regarding turbos, gaskets, manifold etc etc

yeah it appears to be quite a handy system. i would only use it around police and for when i visit my parents because im always out visiting old friends at ungodly hours of the night.

mate has one on his liberty, the noise difference when opened and closed is impressive, definantly handy for police run ins or angry neighbours.

Yeah i've seen and heard these. Definetly do what they say on the box.

If it was my car, i'd get it tuned with the flap fully open. Then whenever i closed it, i'd drive it like a grandma. With that much backpressure from the closed flap on the full-open-tune, your just asking to break something if you fang it.

Considering it's price, I honestly can't see any drawbacks at all, unless you're forgetful/stupid.

You guys do realise that the flap diverts the exhaust gasses through the muffler and not actually blocks it off, I highly doubt that closing the valve will put any stress on exhaust gaskets.

Closing the valve doesnt put excessive force cuz it still has flow, but you feel underpowered.....

With the flap closed, under normal driving and at idle it doesnt put much extra stress on gaskets however the diverted gases flow through the muffler chambers less than 2 inches in diameter so if you are giving it some stick and you have old shitty gaskets etc then it would cause gasket failure due to excessive backpressure. Look at all the turbo gasket failures that happens on vehicles in everyday driving/racing so what do you think happens when you restrict this even more? With the flap closed I find my 500+hp car to be slower than a mazda 2 for example. Why is it underpowered? Because flow has been severely restricted doh, how could flow not be restricted going from say my 3 inch system to less than 2 inches! So why anyone would want to think about tuning or giving it full stick with the flap closed is beyond my comprehension, waste of time.
