That's my only gripe with the 40! Stupid noise... and that it doesn't use the same battery as the mkII.

Yeah well that's how they can charge for new batteries etc.. It's no good (for the manu) if you don't need to upgrade your whole kit when moving to a new body!

Phobia? Those feet are probably cleaner than my face and I wash it every morning!

Serious though Wayne, will you be buying EF-S lenses anyway? Every Sigma lens is an EF.. I find the 7D also awful to hold, all the buttons are wrong, like a Nikon. 5Dmk2 is very 5D/40D/50D/500D/450D/1D/1Ds orientated and I could use the buttons without looking like 5 minutes after getting one because they're in similar/familiar spots. 7D they're all different!

sooo nick, i looked at 5dmark II and 7d's (alot). Thought about it for a bit (days), and ive decided to go with the 7d, because il be using it for mostly sport and moving subjects. Soooo i ordered one from that cameras direct place on the goldy. Think it was sidd who recommended em to me.

(Oh dont look sad nick, i know you hate em but cmon) haha

Sooo lets talk lenses? 7d broke my first year apprentice piggy bank. So im looking for a decent lens around the $400 mark? Obv buying second hand. Got any recommendations? Maybe sigma or tamrons?

Well I did the 21st last night, a brother in the army who was cleaning up townsville made a surprise entrance right when I should've left so I ended up staying almost an hour over, at gratis I guess.

Here's the photo from yesterday, which was from last night. ISO was pushed into 500-640, made me a little teary 40D does not like. Tried for lower ISO but the bounced flash was just too bad. I also brought the ringflash mod but it's fall-off was immense and the distance from people varied too much for any sort of consistent results, so it was bagged pretty much instantly. Had the YN on my little bracket hanging off a roller-door support which was totally handy and lasted the 3hrs on 1/8th hitting the roof giving me a bit more chuff so my 580 wasn't nuking everyones face and the BG black.

5D/5Dmk2 would've been gold. My 50 1.8 hunted like a pig too, so yay for a 1.4 & USM as I missed shots/miss focused with the 1.8 in the awful light.

It's funny that I have to desat a lot of these party photos because half the girls are so fake-tanned they're like fanta vs the one girl on the end who's untanned.. She looks like casper when the rest end up normal-ish.. HAHA.

Yeah nearly all. Good a pretty good set-up too, like 4 or 5 430ex2's and bounce, stu's and 40" softboxes!

And most of all.. A seemingly endless supply of willing models with nothing better to do!

Another from the other night. Pretty pissed at the keeper rate, ISO 500-640 made everything pretty much uselessly soft. I rated 216 out of 571 for keepers. Worst part was there was an area with seats and above that was a wooden floor for the room above, with tons of metal I beams for support = bounce flash was useless.

Neil, how wrong are you normally? (regarding pc shutting itself down)..


So I took it to the garage and hit it with the air compressor & brush. Dusty as hell (but it's on practically 24x7 so I clean it out every couple of months anyway)..

Cracked CPU fan.. New cooler is around $40 for a universal cooler master/thermaltake but really.. I just superglued it as:

A) Couldn't be arsed.
She'll be right !
C) Saving money!
