 Honda Qr50 Problems

i have a 1985 honda qr50 that i have just completely restored for my oldest son.
im at the starting it for the first time stage but its giving me greif can anyone help????????????????????
it has spark,fuel,compression so it should start......the spark is abit weak but wen i flick the rear brake lever whicj has the safety switch on it the spark gets stronger then the bike will fire,but if i dont flick it on & off the spark is not strong enough to fire.iv disconnected the safety switch & bridged it with a split pin thinking it was a faulty safety switch but the spark is still weak.
once it does fire it will run for about a minute but then it stops then i gotta kick it over flicking the safety switch on & off again then eventually it will fire again.
im thinking its a bad earth or faulty cdi but when it does run it idles nice just cant put revs to it.
i need to get it running to tune it properly & run it in but this spark issue is stumping me at the moment.
can anyone give me any advice with this because its pissing me off having my son ask me every 5 minutes when can he ride his bike.

Hi, I do not have any solution for you, but as I am experiencing the same problems ( weak spark, compression, fuel ok) I was wondering if you have solved the problem already.
