wouldn't you want a comfortable ride in said family car?

If you think you know better, go throw the wheels on your lancer, then get your camera out and create a thread about how your car is now a mobile death trap for you and your family!

 happy days

CAN A MOD MOVE THIS TO OT?? SO I CAN UNLEASH? FFS

First of all do you know what 'offset' means?

Just because a wheel will physically fit over the studs does not mean they 'fit'

both the ba and the lancer have a +40 offset

a lancer stud pattern is %X114.3 same as ford, mazda and toyota.

BUT, you can put RWD off set rims on a FWD car, just wont work.

and 20's will fit aslong as u get tyre that are the same OD and have the same load/speed rating or higher.

my brothers vrx has 18's from factory, 20's will fit and still be legal provided he stays within the 15mm increase allowable. prob won't scrub either, thing sits like a 4wd.

ok, i missed a bit in there.

rims he wants is off a BA falcon, which is RWD and the wheel will have a RWD offset.

you can't put RWD off set rims on a FWD car as they wont fit.

he needs a FWD offset rims

Sorry mate but you are a long way off there.

Driveline has nothing to do with what wheels fit what.

Things that differ/matter:
Width
Diameter
Offset
Stud pattern

What do you think happens when you rotate tyres? suddenly you have RWD wheels on the front???

u are a fuck tard.

falcon rear wheel drive (RWD)
lancer front wheel drive (FWD)

the falcon will have the WRONG FUCKING OFFSET to bolt on to a front wheel drive car. simple end of fucking story.

I am a fucktard? REALLY?

Do you even know what OFFSET is?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Offset_%28wheel%29

It has been said in this thread that OFFSET would be the only issue, and a member has provided information that both of these vehicles have +40 offset. Whether this information is true or not,is not something I can comment on.

have u ever had a lancer 18 mag in your hand. they are only a 18X7.5 with fuck all meat on the hub of the rim
where as for exaple, a BA XR6 which is 17X8 and with plenty of meat on the hub. there is a big difference between rims.

and there is no way a std Xr6 rim would fit on a lancer as it would foul on the gaurd and stick out from under the graud cause by wrong offset.
so i wonder how well 20 to suit a BA would fit??????????????

Bingo! You're on the money there.

Perhaps if you said 'FWD cars tend to have a higher/lower offset than RWD cars, this will cause *the above*'

Instead of 'RWD wheel wont fit beacuse it is a FWD.'

Clear as mud!

A quick google search has shown me that BA falcon has +36 offset and CJ VR-X lancer has +43 offset.
