if you treat the mazda right, it will last you forever, but if your a hoon, it will break. it is the same as every car made.

Which one? The Mazda-built 12v jobbie or the Mitsubishi engine?

Get a hilux. Do it right, the extra price is worth it.
The Mazda is gutless. And chews fuel.. Averages like 450 to a 65l tank.. Not much weight in tray.

My work ute is a Mazda bravo 2.6... I used to have a hilux 2.7efi, great utes I sold it to my dad he loves it.

Get the Mazda with a LPG conversion, you will like it and you will have awesome fuel economy.

I had the same. Was a good ute and on lpg I got 500klms for $38 bucks.

I'd skip the bravo though peronally and get a BT50. I've got a 2.5L turbo diesel 09 model and it's got heaps of torque and gets 7-800klms from the tank.

From what I've seen I'd say they are every bit as bulletproof as hilux's. My mates got one with 590,000kms on the odo and its still going strong, he picked it up dirt cheap with no logbooks or service history, so who knows how it was looked after but either way I'd definately say they are pretty tough.

He drives like a deadset wanker and after 40,000kms of ownership not a single problem with anything, after all the curbs hes mounted or slid into, countless gearchanges at redline, doing highway speeds along bumpy pothole ridden dirt roads that would reduce my skyline into a pile of scrap metal in seconds, loading twice the maximum load weight into the back, etc
