hey guys
im trying to find as much information as i can about the autech sr20de. i have been trying to find websights that will tell me more technical information, for exaple the cam profiles & things like that.
i have also read fujistsubo designed the autech sr20 ectractors, but i dont know if thats true (read of a forum)??

i aim to see how much horse power i can get out of the engine and a ruff estimation of what it's going to cost.
i only plan on purchasing things like cams (tomei), valve springs if needed, intake, exhaust, exctactors, sr20de power fc.
any modding idea's will be much appricated.
i really need help, has anyone tryed this before?

You can order the Autech spec cams from Nissan if you have the part number(no surprise) and yes, you will need double valvesprings(may as well get oversize valves while its all apart, Supertech do some great pricing on both valves and valvesprings) I know that Kelford cams do some REALLY good camshaft profiles that would even better the Autech cams wink.gif
The head needs to be ported to make use of the extra airflow or you would be wasting your time, this will be the most crucial part. You cannot machine the head more than 20thou without destroying the quench area of the head and causing valvetrain problems smile.gif
New pistons to bump up the compression to Autech specs(or go for more compression for slightly more power) The SR16VE pistons need to be fly cut by a machine shop but are a great upgrade. I would also recommend getting oil squirters fitted to your block while it is all apart.
Stock intake can work, get the AFM rewired and moved to the drivers side for shorter intake tract
I would consider getting extractors built locally to suit although the Autech ones are Fujitsubo, they do not sell them aftermarket so sourcing them is HARD.
2.5" exhaust would be more than adequate.
I would also suggest either running 4 bar fuel rail pressure for better fuel atomisation AND more fuel flow or getting SR20VE injectors smile.gif
Have the stock ECU Nistuned(Power FC is a waste of coin) and custom tuned.

The above should get you into the 220Hp to 240Hp@engine range(120 to 130kw@wheels)

what he said

and +1 on kelford cams, i've heard that they are good and you may as well go one step further than autech

if your really serious you could do a rwd sr20ve swap, its nissan's vtec but its not an easy conversion

you realise after this is done you'll be making less power than if you bought a det motor and put the boost up to 12psi

not all that much really
cut the wiring and extend it to put the afm on the other side

make a pod enclosure too, to get the most you can out of it (coolest air possible)

cams aren't technically p plate legal but i don't think a cop is gonna tear down your motor to look

exhaust will most likely have to be custom

at the end of the day tho, your probably best to wait and blow 10k on a turbo motor and get much better returns

Personally, I would get a set of Tomei Poncams, extractors from bestmuffler.com, Lukey Air Filter in the stock airbox and get a Nistune done on the stock ECU. Should get around 90 to 100Kw@wheels for a respectable amount of money. best of all, you can sell the whole car to another P plater when you get your opens without losing all the money you would have invested into a fully worked SR20DE engine.

Surely by then P platers would have woken up to themselves?

Do it, please do. Im not feeling my usual chipper self today, so if you do this I can then laugh about how I had more power then you when I was 17 because I purchased a S13 with a SR20DET and a catback exhaust.

^^ Boo for you

I think you missed my point. If I was a P Plater these days and was willing to spend the cash that you are I would be buying a track only S13, a cheap car trailer and an old Patrol to tow it. That way you get unlimited mods on the S13 and you get actual track time in a decently fast car.

Oh wait hang on, that probably wont pull the car sluts though sad.gif

Fair enough, you want something nice to drive on the streets that has as much poke as your are allowed on your P's. I can see where your coming from.
