all you need is some bolts/nuts, washers, some lengths of some-what bendable metal with holes in it (from bunnings) and just fiddle until you find a place to bolt everything upto something stiff. Can be tricky depending on what car you have but generally you would have the holes left over from removing your standard airbox that you can use. |

You can actually buy a bracket from Autobarn that hooks around the hose clamp. |

You might not need a box to cover the filter, but it's always good to keep the hot air from the engine away from the intake. |

check eBay if your car is a common model, you can get pod filter enclosures pretty easily... maybe around $100-150. |

You can actually buy a bracket from Autobarn that hooks around the hose clamp. Then all you have to do is bolt it to the car. This being said, what kind of car and what sort of set up are you running? A pod filter just sitting there generally won't make any difference, but if you do get an Intake box made up it can help force colder air into the filter. There are companies that make them, or I'd assume any fabrication shop can whip one up for you. Just your average sr20det in an s14, ill look into these suggestions guys thanks ![]() |

Hmm, is it 100% compulsory to have it secured? Would like to find out, if so I have a job to do tomorrow ![]() As much as I really, really don't like to agree with Khubner... From the Transport Operations (Road Use Management - Vehicle Standards & Safety) Regulation '10 QUOTE Section 5 (3) Without limiting subsection (1)(a)(v), optional equipment fitted to a vehicle is taken to comply with the requirements of the vehicle standards only if - (a) if the vehicle standards impose a requirement for fitting the optional equipment to the vehicle - the equipment is fitted as required by the standards; or (b) otherwise - the optional equipment is fitted securely to the vehicle. That's the latest version of the vehicle safety standards regulation too btw. Released September 1st. And re: the air box, if you don't have some form of heat shield, the pod is going to make you lose power from drawing in hot air. So it's a good idea regardless. |

So by secure, that can be the hole clamp holding it to the pipe / throttle body. There is nothing that states it has to be a metal strap / can't be a zip tie. |
