The media create the image that pollies misappropriate funds, again if people actually took the time to read what entitlements pollies are allowed then its not actually anything wrong with what they are doing! Like any work place peole are entitled to different things.. Pollies are entitled to have their partners attend overseas trips.. If bias big mouth Pete Davies wants to stir up shit then he should get his facts correct or at least tell his listeners the WHOLE truth first!
Tax payers dont pay for the partners..And he would know that! The pollie gets and offer of ONE business seat, they can split it into TWO economy seats! Or use their own funds and points and upgrade to TWO business seats - which most do! The accomodation is subsidised by the pollie as only their portion is paid for, and meals and activities etc are 9 times out of 10 provided as a good will gesture from the host country, to entertain the partner while the other actually works.. If you ever went on one of these trips they are so not a holiday! Sure they can extend their stay and have a few days as a holiday but the business side of things is not what i'd like to be doing..
Now what some Pollies DO want to look at can be questionable, but some actually provide reports that really assist this country in certain areas!
