about 10 cars missed the turn off on logan rd to get onto the gateway extention to head towards ipswich so they thought it would be a good idea to go thru the city then out thru to mt glorious and get to summerset that way. aparently thats where the accident happened so i was told. i went with the other way with 140 cars onto the gateway.

there was no cop trouble all the way out there, then on the way home they were everywhere, i got stoped by an officer 20km out from fernvale and he let me go with no fines or demerit points (thats great cause i've only got 1 point left to loose LOL) could of had something to do with a bike coming over the hill at like 200km/h, good luck catching him i told the officer. i guess he took it as some kind of challenge LOL. was an awsome cruze ended up down the spit at the GC afterwards. went thru a lot of fuel.

I ended up getting grabbed on the way back... skyline flashed me to warn of it... bit further down I passed an FG ute on the other side of the road, he hooked it and followed me for a k or 2 before pulling me over.

Started about front number plate not being secured to bumper (was on dashboard)... then went and gave me a minor defect for the carbon bonnet.

Truth is, he was friendly enough about it, they were fair points to pull me over for... just glad he only decided to ping me on the bonnet only and nothing else. Had a laugh with him after when I pointed out his windscreen was cracked and I told him to watch out, he could get done for it.

Needless to say, carbon is off... and will be up for sale smile.gif

To the P plater in the commodore who decided to stop in the middle of nowhere with little warning for the vehicles behind him, take it as a learning lesson that if in future you need to pull over and you have a large number of vehicles behind you, next time use your indicator with a shitload of warning so others behind you can put theirs on as well... I'm not going to flame you for what you did as I made sure I had enough distance between me and the car ahead... however the bloke behind me was lucky to pull up, and as you can tell it only got worse from there. Just take it as a constructive driving tip.

Yer I was 45 km/h over (I was caught doing 125km/h), though I did think I was in a 100 zone (being that I was coming off a 100 zone & every other road I'd been on all day was a 100 zone) and it wasn't until about a KM up the road I saw an 80 sign and lightly hit the brakes and began to roll to a lesser speed.

THEN the disco lights came on behind me.

*shrugs*

S2krazie
Post #240

As I thought, I've just google mapped the road I was caught on.

The 80km/h sign I slowed down at is the first speed sign.....

Wonder if I could make something out of it? Cop it sweet (as I was intending to) or be bothered to fight it ohnoes.gif dunno.gif

I would be contesting it.

A fine like that - if successfully put onto your driving record, could strongly influence an insurers decision to keep you covered.

If you dont disclose it, its easy enough for them to find out in the event of a claim, and BAM, you're on your own.

Police had plenty of prior opportunity to pull you over at the time of you committing the offense (125 in 100kph)... the fact that they waited until a change of speed limit could be perceived as being opportunistic and possibly unethical (if something happened in the space of that 1km where they 'waited' for a better deal, I wonder IF they would have a case of negligence to answer for as they had not immediately upheld the law?!)

I'd think it is definitely worth putting an argument up against. You've got plenty to gain... just worth assessing the risk of how much more you might lose if not successful.

If only xxxxgold were around to provide some input on this!

Purple Civic with 20" Chrome mags. It's there in one of the threads for pics of the day. Were you in the white Soarer or the one with the custom bonnet and red front bar??

I left my VE at home and cruised with a friend.

933 + 60 in court costs? I think its worth contesting.
its only a single fine, in a non residential area with minimal possible impact. I mean whats to loose?
