There are bad/inexperienced drivers driving high preformance cars , slow cars, it's nothing to do with the Car. I'm just saying from watching the groups that I did. It seemed like the excels where the ones driving in packs ? ![]() you also find the excel's won't really be slowing each other down much at all anyway. they're fairly maxed out as it is, so grouping together won't whole-heartedly be coming down to not getting better lap times. the slower excels let the faster excels through but even so theres only 2-3sec per lap difference between them. |

I don't get held up at all by excels ? You're not in my league ![]() I didn't make that post as a driver I made it from a viewers perspective as I was watching all day. "Finding a clean lap all comes down to experience" ? I'm starting to think you might actually be a moron.. How hard is it to slow down from the group you are stuck in and give yourself a few seconds between a car ? There is usually around 10-15 cars on the track and there is at least 60 seconds of track. That's 4-5 seconds between each car..approx There is no need to drive around nose to tail the whole 5 laps. I'lkl assure you without sounding as cocky as you with your above bolded comment, i am well into your leauge, but i was in an excel, and i will be a bit more, i really enjoy it... but rest assured, we will have to compare times when we get the ecu back into the S14 and tune it... low 59's with 250 hp and blown headgasket... now new engine bigger turbo, ecu, elf fuel, and willwood rear brakes, as well as some aero... Worry about yourself, enjoy the fun of motorsport, and push yourself toward getting some good numbers down... As for dropping back and waiting for a big gap to get a run, IN a hyundai this doesn't happen, if u slow down you get lapped HAHA and usualy by people who like to go fast unto the track has a bend in it ![]() |

Comments taken and I understand your frustration, but surely you also understand that you paid the same entry fee as the slowest driver on the day be it male or female. Given the number of entries it may have been better for QR to have run 5 groups with less laps per session but that i am sure would not have been well received either. There is however plenty of opportunity to compete in other events where traffic is not an issue and quickest times are the order of the day..e.g Gatton Street Sprints, Carnell Race Way, Rocky Street Sprints, Leyburn to name a few. I say thanks to QR and Time Attack for attracting such a large number of competitors. |

Nice drive up north mate, have to really trust your co-driver ![]() Cheers Paul Hats off to Paul, Robby and anyone else on here that has made constructive comments. Forget about running with very slow and/or very fast cars at QR/Track Attack Sprints, my only concern is the fact it's a 5 - 6 hr drive to get to QR then after the event dragging a trailer another 5-6 hrs to get home. Hardly a QR problem lol. Bring on the next event. Rocky Street Sprints. |

I can understand some peoples problems, with slow cars, i was put in group 1 with a borrowed car, i put a time of 66 down on the paper work but the car was duel entered so we needed to be put somewhere, i ended up doing 1:03s most the day but knowing i was going to run slower than the fast cars in group 1, i made sure i was always last in the line to head out, that way I had plenty of room to do what i wanted and did not spend my time trying to get out the way, the leaders only court me on the last lap, but knowing the rules of QR the last car always gets 5 laps which i got every run, so the cars that got 6 laps in i expect a thank you LOL |

Which in turn effects the rest of us sprint drivers who have been doing this for a few years without this sort of problem ? Clearly lakeside and QR management share the same concern , other wise we would not be getting the extra lectures in Drivers Briefing. You want to race head to head and "think" that driving around in packs is fun. Piss off to the Topgear. Or pull your heads in and start driving sprints.. Is that to hard to understand ? |

i thought it was bit of joke yesterday... the biggest groups that i have seen for a long time..there were 20cars in my group when normally there would only be about 12 cars per group They normally run 5 groups of up to 20 cars. The reason that we were all jammed into 4 full groups was that the GEAR boys had a whole group to themselves with only 6 or 7 cars. The bikes running an hour late didn't help either. Its pretty common for the bikes and V8 days to run to 12:30-1:00 on a saturday arvo. what it seems to me is that QR is just doin a money grabbing exercise. QR is a business maximising its profits like any other business. If they have 100 slots they want to fill 100 slots I guess they could offer 50 slots at twice the price to achieve the same return but maybe people wouldn't want to pay that much ? err who said it was trackattack that decided on the clubman layout?!? That was nothing to do with us, I think that Greg who did the breifing normally does wed arvo sprints and got the events mixed up. |
