prolly not..but its quite a serious time attack car..runs some pretty quick times at tsukuba considering its a 1.6L N/A

I wonder if you totalled up the cost of buying and building up that CHallenger then spent the same money on a rolla what would happen??

you'd get my sprinter completely finished and id still be quite confident itd be quicker...that challenger was ridiculous...

however...you could on the other hand have marks ae86 completed with the new 2.2L engine/watts link and equal length rear end...

mate i made the comment because its a shame to see a car like that get pulled apart i know adrian as it sounds you do too and i know what went into building the car. and the guy shat himself after driving it and thats why it was pulled apart so i dont think it is to make it tuffer lol.

yeah thats what i was thinking. Do you reckon that challenger would beat rogers' ae86 on a hillclimb?

Not bad for a "polished turd" hey??

yeah and i would extremely doubt that the ae86 has cost anywhere near what that challenger did.
but i suppose you would have to give the big heavy antiquated old timer a nice straight smooth track so the bogans don't cry foul!

Waiting for the bogans to start crying LOL

PANDA
Post #1738

haha I doubt they will cry, they spend money on their car and its still worth something. You spend 50k on a sprinter and you still have a sprinter worth 10k at most(and a nicely polished turd) haha and even then it will be overpriced Completely different Era's its not comparable. It wil be a sad day when the corolla is listed as a highly collectable car, Im guessing that will happen the same time we all wear beige and speak Japanese. ANY muscle car fan will admit they handle like shit(if not hey are a fool ) and for their Engine size are highly inefficient...but for their day they were the shit. Im sure comparing a KPGC10 GTR to an R32 isn't fair either, so why compare a 1980's car to an early 70's or late 60's car? They both have their place in history and thats where they stay.

If you were to stupidly invest in a car Challenger or Corolla, where would you put your money?

RA65CHARGER
Post #1739

i'd choose a rusted out challenger rolling shell over a fully worked sprinkler anyday lol

Cerby
Post #1740

have to say if i spent the money i'd rather have the challenger myself. I just think its a valid point.

PANDA
Post #1741

haha I think most would spose depends on what you want from the money you spend. The challenger would increase in worth every year and the sprinter will decrease BUT you could drive the sprinter hard and not be too bothered when you roll it, like I mean yeh they are cool little cars but are seriously overrated like a lot of older cars though to be fair. Whatever floats ya boat I spose and some people buy R33's so they actually bought the boat :o

OMG YEAH!!! And that is true about the increase in worth! I would definitely be too scared of wrecking it to do more than cruise about in that challenger
