Hey guys as far as i know the 200sx is the australian delivered version of the s15 and also had to meet quality standards to be sold here. Just wondering if anyone knows any differences between the two? as far as i can tell they are both rwd 2L sr20 turbos.

thanks guys pretty sure this has answered my question. Which one is deerer to insure? im assuming the JDM one as it has more power? If you were to get a turbo off the jdm s15 and put it on the adm s15 i assume this would increase the power but would they then be the same or is there other differnces like the computer ? or tune? |

I found purchasing the JDM was cheaper for me. The ADM model is more easily insured but when my mate was looking to buy his the ADM was actually more to insure for some reason... |

This topic is brought up all the time on nissansilvia.com and there is no proof pointing to higher premiums for people with the Jap Spec S15s. |

This is true only way you could possibly get cheaper insurance for the ADM is if you have no mods (performance mods) or next to no mods and go with a company that doesn't insure imports. But since most people buying an s15 are definitely gonna get an exhaust and get a boost controller then the options are pretty much the same and if there is a company that will insure your modded ADM that won't insure the JDM s15 it'll likely be more expensive then your usual Shanons and Just Car insurance places. |

Well from all reports getting insurance for a JDM S15 is just as easy as getting it for ADM S15 if they are both stock. |

Remembering that basically all the body pannels are the same and they are essentially the same car with very minor differences. Ive herd of NO reports of any ADM S15 owners getting cheaper insurance than JDM owners. Or JDM S15 being denied insurance where a ADM would have. At the end of the day from a performance point of view if you are going to be doing even minor modifications the benefits of a JDM S15 quickly are negated. The JDM turbo will still only make ~200kw like the ADM version and the ECU still needs to be changed to even make that figure. ADM editions are more likely to have more accurate KMs on the clock and the Youngest JDM S15 you can get is 10 years old but most are 11. I would take a ADM S15 any day over a Jap spec You do realise there are many many insurance companies that will flat out refuse to insure an import doesn't matter if it's basically pretty much the same as an aussie delivered car. Go to many of your regular insurance places such as Aami and they will not insure a JDM s15 and may insure an ADM s15 if your over 25. I reckon you could even get away with insuring a stock ADM s15 with companies like Budget direct but you would guaranteed need to be over 25 possibly even over 30 before they would consider it but try the same with a JDM and as soon as you mention import they will laugh at you. |

Digital climate control and the rear bumper i definitely agree with as well as with the pillar mounted boost gauge is pretty nice although still defectable. Whoever it was from RACQ that said to insure as a ADM must of been dodgy as
