Yep.... it's true.

Just put your ph. number and absolutely nothing else.

You can say it is for contact with others with similar cars / club interests.... ( or ppl can phone you to ask if it is for sale )

It is LEGAL to have a 4sale sticker on your car But you must have a current blue safety certificate showing at all times on the car window

No putting a for sale sign, want this, Interested are all illegal unless you have a current up to date Road worthy Certificate attatched to the window as well.
The reason why is without having a roadworthy next to the sign you are potentially selling an Unroadthworthy Vehicle.

well thats just stupid roadworthies only last 1 month and im not willing to pay for a roadworthy every 4 weeks if my car takes longer than that to sell thats just ridiculous and iot shouldnt matter on private property

This

And it has been the law for years now.

If you are selling a REG'd vehicle and have a sale sign on it, it must display a current RWC / Safety Certificate

you can have whatever for sale sticker you want, just need to get a safety certificate first and display it in the window of the car

although it is common practice
you cant advertise a registered car as "selling unreg".

If its reg'd you need a Safety Certificate.
If its unreg - you dont need shit.

if you're selling a car unregistered, you need to cancel the registration before you advertise it for sale

i got fined $500 on nye.
$500 is abit steep in my opinion considering alot of people arent even aware that its the law.

Ignorance isn't an excuse though. Most people by now should know it's the law, and if you intend to sell a car you should look the laws up before doing so.

Edit: I'm not trying to sound mean either, but it is the law and it's been the law for a very long time is all.

Hey guys
I work at Gold Coast City Council and yes it is ILLEGAL. City parking regulate the laws for sales that are advertised 'for sale'. It is only illegal is the vehicle is on public property. So for example, if you car is parked on your own front lawn (your actual lawn not the council strip) then you are fine. But if it is on the road out the front of your property, stopped at a traffic light or parked in a car park you risk getting a fine of $75. This includes if your vehicle is parked on vacant block of land. If it is on vacant land not only can a general Local Law officer get you but also a City Parking officer. Anything from "For Sale" to "Want This" or implying that the vehicle is for sale.

They want more money plain and simple, a 4 sale sign with no 'roady' on the window isn't going to kill a car load of people but the government want you to think it will. Its gone beyond a joke with these car laws and I'm sick as fuck of being scared shitless to drive down the road in a stock r32 because they might of brought out another law I don't know about yet. FUCK THAT. You cant fart in ya own car these days without getting a fine.

I say cover ya car in 4 sale signs and fuck the roady.

they suck with any new laws these days, all about raising revenue, a friend had his phone no, on his car only, a plain clothes cop come up too him and ask if his car was for sale, really nice car, he said, anything is for sale at the rite price and was pretending he would buy it, looked over the car and then went and handed him a $500 fine, for being for sale, what a wanker...
