I got a single cab holden rodeo and i get 2x 250's in mine with ease.

With a dual cab you will need to put the bike in diagionally (same with the commo utes).

Measure it. Generally you can fit most things in diagonally, or depending on the car leave the tailgate open. I usually just hire a bike trailer and tow it. More expensive, but it aint as high for loading purposes.

while we're on the subject, does anyone know if it is possible to fit a sports bike into a VU / VY ute?

Done it with a VS ute, though had to go diagonally to close the gate. I'd imagine the later models would have similar tray sizes.

You can fit road/dirt bikes in Commo utes

Just have the tail gate down. With your dual cab, the rear wheel will sit on the tail gate, but thats fine, stops the gate from bouncing around and bikes weigh fuck all so wont do any damage.

Had a mate put a ZX6 in his dual cab from N Sydney to Broadford with rear on tail gate.

Dont transport any bike on its side! 2 or 4 stroke. There are soo many other options.

Unsure on the canopy.

Yes, you can fit em in pretty easily, its been a couple years since i sold my ute but they're pretty close to going straight it, you may need them a little diagonally though...

ive got a 4x4 hilux with a yz250 the center of the real wheel is almost on the edge of the tailgate. i strap it down from the handle bars and an extra to from the front to the foot pegs so it doesnt skid around. don 5hr drives to tracks been all sweet.

christ, i thought there may have been a little more room. can you get that on and off by yourself? i might have to change my choice of vehicle (i need to be able to fit a genset, tyre warmers, esky, ramp, bike stand, wet rims, and the bike itself).

You would be able to fit the rest in there, ive taken a sports bike (00 R1) ramp 2 stands, two tyres, and a two large backpacks back when I had my VU SS...

Generator to run the tyre warmers, usually about the size of a small esky.





I have a tray back ute, fits everything in with room to spare, I modified under the tray so the ramps slide in underneath to save room up top (not in pic), not sure if you could do that with yours.

You going racing or just track days? Also kinda hard to see but the thing holding my rear wheel down, they are very handy, they pull down and forward, still letting the suspension on the bike to move freely.

Also those 1/4 times, they from a 600? if so thats pretty quick! I ran a 10.75 @130 from a 1.7-60ft and 106hp non lowered. Had yours on the dyno?

im planning to get my arse handed to me in the QRRC Group 2 600cc supersports. first time racing road bikes, but my mates think i will go alright (some of them are supersport racers). My budget has already blown out so im trying to find the most practical vehicle for towing aswell as doing the daily grind around town and must be reliable.

the more i think about it an enclosed bike transporter would be handy, but 3 cars, 2 bikes and a garage full of workshop equipment in suburbia leaves little room to put it.

the 10.76 is from my old 125rwhp gixxer 600, built engine with pistons, cams, and headwork (people thought i could ride until they found out the power figure). the 10.73 is on my r1 the first week i got it in 07', struggled to get it off the line as you can see by the mph (i haven't been back since).

im keen to get on the track, im not expecting to run with the front of the pack in the first season, im pretty sure i will race for atleast 2 seasons then evaluate if it is what i want to do.

are you going to continue racing? have you got a new bike yet?

Ok ok yep, well yeah im pretty sure you would be able to fit it all in, with the bike like the pic above it still leaves a bit of room either corner...

Not really. If you get the front wheel up onto the wheel tub though you can manage it.

hiace van will be you best best for a cheap to rig to fit all your gear, even better if you can get a long wheel base high roof model

will fit your bike spares gen, warmers, and even more important a small bbq and esky

To try it out give street class a go at QR, its basically for people who haven't raced before. that said some guys racing in it are fucking fast. guys up front are running 1.16 but they only let you race in it for one year. Motorcycle Sportsmen run a few series out at Morgan Park, run very well, racing is good too, 600 class has some talent in it.

I wont be racing any more (for now) sold my race bike and bought a house. My street bike (R6), don't want to race that. In the distant future may even get into 400s if they are still around.

post up if you want any more info. I did club level racing on and off for 2-3 years.

I can load and unload the bike by my self, i have 2 bike ramps just have it running and idle it up in 1st gear up one ramp and walk up next to it on the other, then put the bike in the tray side ways. Unloading is just a matter of getting it strait on the ramps and rolling it out. The bike is a 900 and there is room for the ramps and other stuff in the tray after it is loaded as the ramps fold up.

this is the go mate...plenty or room, keep your shit out of the weather, you can store your bike in the van.....by far the easiest way to do it...
big set of wheels and dump it and theyre not to bad to drive around as a daily....

yeah id go with the van if your going to be loading up with extras i bought a 3m ramp to get my yz on/off my ute by myself and its still abit of a pain trying to balance it.
