I've heard a lot of talk over the 186 being better than the 202. If they were standard or worked which do you think would be better. any help with this would be good. Thanks ![]() -------------------- James.

The only basic differences between a red 186 and a red 202, besides general design 'improvements' like rocker design, is the stroke, the piston (same bore but different gudgeon height), the main bearing size and the cam which is clearanced so that the rod bolts don't hit it in the 202. |

i just pulled a 186 out of my hz ute(dnt kno y it was in there in the first place?) it did rev a bit harder but it wasnt as torquey.i replaced it with a fresh high compression 202 and it can pull a loaded car trailer with no dramas.i reckon there both as good as each other.202 being a lot cheaper and easier to find.but its up to you.parts are readily avaliable for both. |

so how much are these 202s u talk of? If you are referring to "wooley" you might want to check out his sale thread first.... Seems to be a LOT of unhappy people paying for so called good items, and getting shit...Or not getting them at all... STRAIGHT OUT OF HIS SALE THREAD... Don't Trust this guy!!!!! Hes into fraud and steeling money and i am still awayting the refund for the 12a motor i bought from you. fuck off buddy the fuck around was not my fault and i am a waitin a tax return for your money. ( GOOD THAT HE MAKES PEOPLE WAIT FOR A REFUND EVEN ) mate you sent me the wrong head. if i wanted a blue motor head i'd pay 20 bucks at the local wreckers. i want what i paid for and reply to my pm this is probably the motor i brought off him!!! that too 5 weeks to arrive when it should have taken 3 days!!! make sure you get photos before you buy cos his descriptions are a little off! i payed for a yellaterra head and racing gears, was supposed to be at my door in 3 days, took 4 weeks. and get the wrong head. if it was just a mistake no worries but gimme a call when you see this. sounds like a few people are getting stuffed around Not someone i would be dealing with in a hurry.....Just a heads up for you mate. |

Plenty of the old red 6's still getting around mate. You sure as hell can screw a lot of out them if you want ( just depends on how much you want to spend) or they are great cruisers too. I know the Blue is a little bit better base to start with as to the crank, but i will not stray away from my original set up in my HR of 186 Red, with 2 speed glide. |

well first off its an ex calder thunderdome race car, with the full spec 202 race engine, forged gear, monster cam, worked heads, the lot. but will probs tone it down, bcoz it will be a weapon and probably too much to handle for a learner. |
