Im still running standard exhaust manifold, bwud.
Intake piping temp of 15 degrees really wont make any difference, if you consider the speed the air is moving through the piping. Its not in there long enough to pick up much temperature hey. I have a cold air intake setup which draws 100% of its air from just behind the front bar, and even then there is no noticeable gain. Intake temps have to vary fairly dramatically before you notice any gains/losses, but i guess every lil bit counts when you are running a track car on a budget!

Garrr still trying to decide... If i sell the commodore soon then i'll register the skyline and turbo it, and buy something cheap as a daily driver. At the moment tho, I just dont have the cash to do it.
Would really love to tho! But should probably get a bit more acquainted with the track first too. Ive only done 3 sessions. Might get back down there this week, but not sure.

Now officially a drift pig.
OK so on a account of my bonnet needing to be replaced/repaired from where the handbrake failed and it rolled into my shed, i figured id try my hand at busting out a couple of bonnet vents before i get a new one and see how it goes.
Theyve still gotta be finished with a bit of pinchweld around the tin or something to neaten it up.
All I did was use the bonnet bracing as a guide and cut a couple of V shapes, leaving the tin attached along one face, so that i can bend it down and fit a piece of mesh along the front faces to hold the tin in place as well as look better than just a hole.
Pretty much looks how i expected is was going to. Pumps out a lot of hot air, but probably doesnt do too much function wise.

Thanks man. looks a bit better not in photos i reckon - pretty proud of it haha - never taken to tin with a grinder before so i figured im ditching the bonnet anyway so i'll have a shot.

Rubbed back the old R31 today, gettin up early in the AM to paint it. Removed the rear wing and painted it, deciding whether i put it back on or not - i'll post pics with and without it and let the people decide cos im comfy either way. Gotta pull the mud flaps off it too...
Went into my old work - autobarn - and had some paint mixed up. Went with the factory paint code, but added a decent amount of blue pearl, to really clean up the colour a bit and make it really flick along the body lines in the sun.
Also had a dark metallic charcoal mixed up which i will use on the bonnet, with a bit of flatting agent so it wont have any real sheen to it. The colour actually looks very carbon fibre-ish and i'll be painting my vented bonnet with that, and painting my standard bonnet in the same colour as the rest of the car.
I mixed up a real dark coppery-gold colour and ill be painting my white wheels with it too - i'll paint two tomorrow and the other two WHEN I GET THEM BACK FROM DAN (if your reading this haha).
I reckon itll look good - not sure whether to do around the windows in the same silver as the rest of the car, or if i should do them in the charcoal colour...
Seriously contemplating running some coilovers - so if anyone wants a set of new king springs and new shock absorbers for their skyline, literally done about 100km of driving TOPS, you can have them for $500. Thats $125 a corner for all new suspension, with lower, stiffer springs.

already got one man! even delivered it for moe. I have 3 pairs of stove tops now. I have aone tinted set, one untouched set, and one set that im cutting apart and customizing.

Looks awesome man. I bought an old R31 shadow not sure what series it is a while ago. Goes all right. I have stripped the interior to just the front seats and dash. Its white with all clean panels, straight through pipes from the cat, just got lowered king springs atm. But yeah i want to buy another for track and street use.

its similar to atomic mica - i made the colour myself so there is no other car with this paint :-)
Its for sale at the moment - looks like one of the other boys at Bob Romano's is buying it.
Picking up my supra tomorrow if all goes well, and will start getting it ready.

Ive got three sets of taillights, you can have a set for $50 if you want mate, and yeah i still have the extractors but i think a guy at work is grabbing them, he's buying the car and wants to fit them.

haha ive been asked by HEAPS of people this week to paint their cars...
Takes me a weekend (two 12 hour days of solid work) to paint a car, including door jambs but not engine bay. Thats if there is no bodywork (dents etc) that need fixing.
Bob Romano Performance Motors charges $120 an hour to have me work on your car haha...

also, series two blocks have the points for oil feed and return for a turbo drilled, tapped and plugged from factory smile.gif = uber easy turbo conversion

No - Its a Ti. Top of the line luxury pack. Doesnt even have an LSD - only the silhouettes got those.
But its fast, and cheap to run! i drive to work and back which is an even mix of highway and city traffic, and i get 8.2L/100kms! Not bad for a big comfy car.
The Ti will NOT be being modified at all - i bought it off a very elderly gentleman and the car literally looks like its about 6 months old, in and out. I went to look at it with the intention of playing around with it, but when i saw it it was pretty clear that this car is NOT to be messed with and modified - its simply too original.
HOWEVER.....
Green Meanie gets registered soon, then it gets coilovers, ext gate turbo, front mount intercooler, bosche pump with surge tank, 3" turbo back exhaust, twin plate clutch, hydraulic handbrake, GTiR front brakes...
So i'll have two rego'd R31's - one an absolute missle that looks awesome, and one for just cruising...

get some import struts (or coilovers) and put 32 or 33 brakes on

or if ur going s13 conversions get s14 brakes or 32 or 33 brakes too (and you can go to 5 stud at the same time)

Im comfy with having four studs. less work when changing tyres haha...
Im just transplanting stuff from another R31 straight into it. Pretty sure its running S13 LCA's and steering rack etc.

OK so my front lip - which cost me $30 and 8 zip ties, is now fitted. its going to be trimmed into some sort of neat shape (a bit better than it is) and then painted the same dark bronze as the wheels and bonnet. I wanted to leave as much material as possible til it was mounted to the car, to allow me to cut it down a bit further. Its quite large at the moment.
I am making a rear lip at the moment too, will be finished by sunday afternoon i reckon.
