haha lets hi jack this thread again, why dont you get coil overs? haha its all good. I thought about it but when i initially started on the car, i intended to keep it as a daily driver, but then i bought the commodore, so now it doesnt need to be. I didnt want it to be too rough a ride, or spend $1200 or so on a set of coilovers. This is pretty much the conversation thread anyway, at least for those who hit up archie or drive 31's. |

OK so wanna hear some funny shit? after last wednesday nights drift session, the old handbrake in the R31 isnt as much chop as it used to be. The car managed to roll down my driveway (you can sortof see my driveway in the pics of the car) and managed to roll into my shed. i was inside and heard a massive crash haha - it went down my driveway, about 10 meteres at least, and straight into the shed, and hit the back wall, ploughing through my workbench, and continued THROUGH THE WALL of my shed til it hit the water tank, about a metre behind the shed. So the whole back wall is fucked. I had it parked right at teh top, where it is in the photos ive taken of it, and had my commodore parked at the bottom, in front of one of the shed bays, so i heard the craashhh and went oh shit... no way... but by some CRAZY twist of fate, it sailed all the way down the driveway and managed to go right in the door! what are the odds? Im missing a rear view mirror on my left side but still... . Long story short - car is all good except for a few dents. back wall of shed is annihilated so ill be workin on that tomorrow. hahaha they tend to do that btw, prob should have warned you mine did the same (our house is below road level and the driveway is pretty steep but not very long) the car went into the house but it only rolled about 2 metres before it hit no real damage to either thankfully maybe look at doing an r33 rear cradle conversion (it has been done b4 but needs a fair bit of welding) |

Realistaically, i just want to get the handbrake up to spec before taking it out again next wednesday, to see what the car is properly capable of. And ill go from there. I want to register it actually, and sell the commodore so i can just drive down instead of having to trailer it. |

If your keen on getting an S13 my mate is selling his for 5-7k(depending on what mods are on it) its an ex track car from japan has a roll cage etc and a very good tune. But for 5k you could get coilovers and a turbo kit for R31. I might come have a chat if you end up going on wednesday i wana get my car on the track some day soon |

about that good haha seriously tho, lovin it. Its a blast. good tight twisty track which means i dont have to worry about building up too much speed yet. i can do full laps drifting every corner now, i spin it often enough still but ive done a fair few good complete laps. Gotta learn quick tho - you feel like a dick sitting there facin the wrong way knowing there are people waiting. Unfortunately, I don't know how you feel. ![]() |

Well Im expecting to see big improvement from myself this wednesday night. starting to get a good feel for it. Ive got a couple of rims to bring down for ur cuz, nick. Soon as the tyres on them are gone i will be picking myself up a full new set. Ive found that my front tyres are really copping a beating? theyre pretty rough and torn up! Really need a lower profile i think... i think its cos im still smashing on the front brakes out of habit at times. im down to my last set of skid rims so ive gotta organise something soon. I need some 205/50 or 225/45 tyres pretty soonish haha... drifting with 14" rear wheels makes it a bit unpredictable i find. |
