ok i heard a rumor from a few of my mates and im kinda hoping its a myth, the story is a guy had a fmic, he had it mod plated and everything, but the cops still defected him as they felt it was ' not securely mounted' i thought if you had a mod plate you were safe? if they can over rule a mod plate doesnt that make the system redundant? i just wanna know if i should waste my time getting mod plates if they dont mean a thing? like i said i hope its a myth |

hahahaa yerop cops can certainly do it , they got me for fmic , tyre sizes and not having a tyre placard in my Fc Rx7 ... considerin it as all mod plated ... All mod plated? You had a mod plate for the fact that you don't have a tyre placard on your car? |

All mod plated? You had a mod plate for the fact that you don't have a tyre placard on your car? LOL The thing is, a mod plate doesn't instantly make you immune to an anal session with an officer. Alot of people get things mod plated, then change it after that, then expect not to get done for it if a cop actually knows what he's looking at/for. ![]() |

Hmm i was told by a copper if i had cut into the car to fit my FMIC they could take it off the road. if you're changing the structural integrity of the vehicle, then yes. same as cutting out your rear parcel shelf to fit speakers. i know of people who've been given an unroadworthy certificate for that as well |

At the end of the day you will always loose against the badge. They r right u r wrong, and if u argue u might just get another ticket. If your car looks modified and u drive and hang out after dark, they will fine you. Hmm generalise much? Last time I got pulled over, which is very rarely, once every few years, was because I had forgotten to pay my rego on my Chaser. Friday night, the cop pulls me over. I step out of the car and stand on the side walk and talk to him and his female partner. She goes away with licence to do check while I talk with the male officer and end up having a conversation and a bit of a laugh. She comes back over, joins in the conversation, tells me my rego has expired, so my 3rd party insurance is also not valid. They tell me to take my car home and not drive it til the rego has been paid. So I drive home, no ticket, no inspection of my car, nothing. Yet the car is obviously highly modified. L2havebetterattitudeswhendealingwithpolice I have 2 mod plates on one of my current cars, and have had 2 other cars in the past with mod plates. 1st one is for a V8 implant into a car that came out as a 6, 2nd one is for the turbo I think, never really bothered to check to be honest. They were done at different times. Never when I have been pulled over have they even bothered to check the paperwork, yet alone even pop the bonnet and look at the mod plates of any of my cars. |
