I'm after a carbon fiber bonnet for a s1 r33 but I'm not sure the bullshit with them, like are the cops going to give me shit about it... what i don't need coz the car has to many mods already i have seen a lot of them getting around and i think it would set it of ????? so if any one knows the laws about them i would love to no ....thanks I'm in QLD gold coast if it makes any change?? |

there are a few companies still getting round with bonnets that are ADR approved arent there maybe ![]() but i read somewhere that some places say that they meet adr standards but neglect to mention that aren't actually adr approved |

As i said before the other post got moved/deleted. Carbon fibre bonnets in Queensland are generally illegal as the carbon fibre shatters and does not comply with the ADR standards for accident force absorbtion. Yes there are ADR approved bonnets, I'm only actually aware of 1 in production, yes it is expensive and yes the police (through ignorance) with try and defect you anyway unless you fight tooth and nail to prove otherwise and while they're at it probably defect you for other modifications. Long story short, I wouldn't think it's worth the hassle. |

thanks guys ill have a look around i have spent all most 25k on the engine bay and the car looks shit i am about to paint it and tidy it up and thought it might look a bit better...... i could be a homo and just paint it black ........but that's cheap and I'm not like that i like cool shit |

In the long run its going to cause you massive headaches. Certain things scream "try to defect me" and carbon bonnets are one of them. |
