was good to see some well built cars out there with plenty of numbers in attendance.

between 10 minutes and 2 hours. depending on where at the coast, what car, what the traffic is like and how fast you drive.

generally, up the highway, allow an 1hour > 1our 15mins
use googlemaps and calculate your journey from where u live. much easier way to determine.

I have been trying to explain this concept to people in QLD for 5 years, it was done successfully in Melbourne for years by a company called DragTag who had a premesis who could accomadate such a function, it ran every Friday and Saturday nights, it took people away from the illegal skids on the street and allowed it to happen in a somewhat controlled environment.

People are happy to pay $10-$15 to ensure they arent going to get their car confiscated etc.

The Police will support it (in the same way they did with Toombul) as long as people arent morons, doing skids to leaves etc.

It was only a matter of time, well done to the organisers.

Went last night, was awesome, couple of close calls with the walls on the burnout pad, coppas did turn up but theres nothing that they can do its on privite property in an industrail estate go figure.

Less hassle for them if it's off street, they can stand and watch, which is exactly what they did.

Hell i even saw them helping some dude in an AE86 change his rims!

If anyone has had experience with the caloundra burnout comp you would know the police actually enjoy it. Ive entered it every year for about 4 years. Last year i got pulled up in my car the day after for an RBT and 2 coppers walked up to me an basically said nice skids, and good on ya for doin it legally. Another one drove past me and waved the same day.

Pretty much they are going to encorage you to enter this and do it legally. The last thing they want is to have to book people. Im sure they would much rather sit and watch.

Easy if you dont wanna get booked. Dont be a tool when your leaving. Dont have the slappers still on the back that you just fryed the fuck out of. Thats the main thing there going to be looking for. From my experience there more leniant on mods and stuff after you have left a legal event. Just dont let them see you driving around with the illegal stuff on at say aspley or down the coast.

Think i might head down tonight in the wags and bring a few mates down with me. Sounds like a good night. Ive been really wanting a legit scene closer to the sunny coast, Only 25 minutes from my house so thats awsome.

It wasn't a bad night at all, went down with a few mates last night and it wasn't a bad turnout either, probably around 200 people were there.

Some nice burnouts throughout the night, and some well ..from the crowds reaction that said it all.

I'll be keen to head out again some other time, but I don't think I'll head there tonight, being Sunday Night I don't think it will be as big.

I heard that they are looking to do this Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday - bit of a overload maybe?

I think it'd be nice to have one decent night a week most people won't be able to pay $15 for every night to get in either.

I really liked the inside set-up where all the cars were parked in the building, might be an idea to set up a show and shine in there one night a week as well and the people who are just there for skids can park on the grass where most people parked anyway.

All in all, good night thanks to the people who put this on - keeping burnt rubber off the streets.

I hope this stays around though, it makes it legal and thats what alot of people have been looking for instead of heading out to various places.
