I have bought a holden commadore, 1994 station wagon, the rego ran out on the 18th jan, I am going to put a new exhaust on, and i think it may need two new tyres.......... Can i re register it? what do i need to do to get it done?

I am stressing out, and getting alot of ear ache from the missus!

Any one can help?

cheers,

I think you have 28 days to pay after rego expiration before you need to get another safety certificate.

Soooo.. I guess you'll need to get another safety cert

Take your car to a Mechanic to get a Safety Certificate ..
If it's not in roadworthy condition the mechanic will tell you to go and get it fixed (or fix it for you for a hefty price)
Once you got the Safety Certificate (proves its in roadworthy condition)
Take it to the DOT and get shit sorted out smile.gif
Easy

if you get a RWC they'll tell ya whats wrong with it, should cost you around $60 for cert. then get repairs done etc. (if any) you go back within 14 days with required repairs done and hey presto they give you the passed slip that you need for DOT.

i do believe you can pay a bit extra if its within 3 months of expiry and you wont need a RWC, has to be in your name tho, but you will get 6/12 months from 18th january tho

assuming your from QLD of course....NSW isnt much different
