Hi, I had a brief search and didn't come up with anything, but my question is, is Dynamat (and other sound deadeners i spose) waterproof?

I ask this because I see DIY guides on sound deadening, and they always strip away the bin liner in the doors when they put Dynamat on.... and I'm guessing the bin liner's there for a very good reason.

Thanks

Got Dynamat on my ute, pulsar and soon to have it for the skyline(once completed) and found it to be perfectly waterproof.

The material is like tar, if you seal it up properly then nothing gets through smile.gif

Hot tip - make a "shield" of Dynamat that goes from the rear of the inner door skin over the speaker basket, so any water that drips in your door cavities won't get on your speakers.

That is a good tip. thumbsup.gif

Make sure there is enough room around the speaker basket for it to breath though and also keep in mind the room for the window winding mechanism smile.gif
