Nsw To Tas Rego Transfer - cheapest way

So i need to transfer my rego this week...
now i now if i do it the normal way im charged a trasfer fee..
i've heard theres a way to avoid this by registering it as a new car in tas?
any help would be great

cancel NSW rego and re rego in tas but you will need to have it passed over the pits

who do i call to cancel that?
or by the rego expiring is that cancelled automatically?

if it expires it automatically cancelled. Or you could I dunno, ring the NSW RTA and have it cancelled

u call the NSW Department of roads. like u would here.

no cause it would still be in some period where it can be rego'd again ... u need to ring and CANCEL it ..... then they will want u to send there plates back

either way, it has to go over the pits for an inspection in Tas

Yeah its gonna cost you the same either way, you will still need an inspection and the first lot of rego involves a fisting for stamp duty etc depending on the market value of the car

do you still have to pay a transfer fee if the car wasnt rego'd then u buy it and rego it?

No but if its not regoed you have to pay stmap duty. Really its kinda like robbing peter to pay paul. Theres no chepa way to get a car regoed, if you dont pay transfer you pay stamp duty lol

It will need to go over the pits, most mechanical places can do it but just take it to M.S Automotive in main rd moonah they can do it . Then take that form, rego papers, and the plates off the car to transport Tas and they can do the lot and give you new tas plates straight away, as for change over it depends on how much you brought the car for.

well its all done epic effort tho..
service tas were not going to let me rego it because build date and compliance date were different .. monkeys lol
in case anyone needs to know it was $510 for 6 months with all fees..
Cool side is i got A*80*PJ as a standard plate.. could find one with jz unfortunately
