This is just an update on my Ford Escort...
I recently painted this myself. Now, I'm probably gonna get flamed to the shit on quality of the job etc. But whatever. It's better than the paint that was on there before and it does actually look quite presentable for a home-made streeter. Anyway, on with the specs...

Engine:
1600 Kent motor. Rebuilt, converted to unleaded, mildly decked head, street cam, 32/36 downdraft on GT manifold.

Exhaust:
4-1 extractors and a full 2 inch 'zaust.

Suspension:
2 litre struts up front, lowered springs. Rear is slightly lower leaf springs.. old skool.

Wheels:
13" Sampson Engineering rims, running with 205/60x13 Nankangs.

Modifications:
Steering wheel, gear knob, changed door trim colour, new seats(Same as old ones, just red pleather instead of tan fabric).

Stereo Audio / Visual:
Kenwood headunit, 2x 4 inch speakers up front with a cheap sub in the boot... not great quality but gives ample "doof" for cruising around.

Estimated Power:
Not much at all... never been on a dyno or to a track/strip... yet... but it's not that powerful, just fun in the wet... biggrin.gif

Get a little coin together and go a 2L pinto with all the bells and whistles. You wont look back! The paint looks alright for a DIY job, but just not sure on the front grill. Either way GL with it man biggrin.gif

    like the plates wink.gif

    Thanks guys...

As for the paint... it's polyurethane topcoat.

And as for the 2L Pinto.. I've thought about it but if I was gonna swap the engine I'd be goin for something more modern.. I was thinkin maybe worked 1.8L MX5 engine as it would be compact enough to avoid interfering with the brake booster etc... I posted a topic in the Pre 1985 forum but no-one seems to have any info on what stuff like engine mounts/stuff to make it work would cost so that idea is still in dream land... laugh.gif
