Ive seen heaps like this and i know that some put their pod filters in the headlight hole for good air flow.
But whats with drag cars and doing this? is there a reason for it or is it just a trend?

The colder the intake air (as cold air is denser than hot air) The more power can be produced, not to mention increased throttle response.. Drag racers remove the headlight closest to where they have they're pod or general intake of the engine to suck the greatest amount of cold air cool.gif

Give him a break guys

some are black because they are actually fibreglass replacement parts to replace the not needed weighty original headlights....

not sure wat the go with drags is, but track cars are required to put tape/contact over glass headlights to minimise glass on track should they break in an accident

Cold air intake. Simple as that. Cooler intake air = more horsepower
