Wrong btw. Holden Monaro over there is called a Pontiac GTO. VE Commodore went over there, and was called the Pontiac G8.

funny thing is about the G8 its cost less in America than a SS is here, thats with the curency conversion, i even figured it out that you could import one from the U.S for the same price or a bit less depending on exchange rate at the time than if you went to holden and bought a SS, to bad they are left hand drive.

The commodores is also known as the Vauxhall R8 in the uk

The reason most of them are called something "8" In America or England etc is because most of them are 8's. I think only the Chevy Lumina is the only Holden built 6 you can get in the US, Not sure about the UK.
