Being against lockers is a bit of a bandwagon at the moment, don't worry about it. Just don't drive one on the road if you care about legalities. |

QUOTE(LordNafe @ Apr 12 2008, 10:58 PM) It's illegal on the street, but no where in this thread did he say it was a street car.... Would be retarded to lock it. LOL you've obviously never driven a car with a locker if you don't know hwo it affects driveability..... nope i have not driven a car with a lock diff this is why i made this topic to find out about welding the diff QUOTE(paddles7 @ Apr 13 2008, 12:00 AM) Being against lockers is a bit of a bandwagon at the moment, don't worry about it. Just don't drive one on the road if you care about legalities. Weld as in the pic, but make sure you don't get any weld or slag on the crownwheel (the large gear that encompasses the spider gears in the middle) The pic shows a fuckton of slag everywhere, its not necessary, you just need to weld up the joins between the 4 spider gears to stop them rotating on each other. Some people also weld bolts in the joins to strengthen the join. i think it is a good idear to start of difting with because you can spend your cash on handing thanks for the info QUOTE(GreekWarrior @ Apr 13 2008, 12:31 AM) damn right in an integra give me a pair of maccas trays and I'll hand his ass to hm. its street ricing illegal or is bring macca trays teh new 'in' mod to have? where can i buy them?? ![]() thanks man i wish i can be as cool and smart like you..your a god!! note the sarcasm?? 90% of people hate honda's-this is because of honda drivers like you |

the reason a locker is deemed illegal is because if you come to say a round about or a wet intersection the car can easily slide out, it is also a bitch to turn, specially when reversing in a tight area. |

Or if you have something like a s14 you should have a look at getting the stock lsd shimmed (this is really all you would need if you are just learning to drift). That way you dont have to put up with a locker but its 1/3 of the price of a 2 way diff. Cheers dude you been a real good help!! i hope i can get an S13 QUOTE(Zeeute @ Apr 13 2008, 11:10 PM) Lol, your so good for a laugh ![]() He sure is a joke ![]() |

It all depends on wat car your driving. ive been driving a commodore for years with a locker and it loves it. no worries AT ALL turning in car parks (power steering). Great at high speed car is sooo much more stable. |

OT: A welded diff behaves like a go karts diff (or lack of). An open wheel diff will not always kick out and is therefore unpredictable which in my eyes is more dangerous. Same as autos ![]() |
