The car has not been auctioned.[b]

The response was written by the manager and posted by myself an employee of said workshop.

Well who owns the car then?

i think one of the horror stories was not this shop though it was another one down the road...

It all dosnt add up..would like to know who brought the car at auction and for how much? The owner should have got back something from the sale. Why couldnt the owner of the car be given the option to sell the car himself and then money paid to shop..there are more options then selling it at auction for 11k!!!

You may find the car didn't actually go to auction as the car by the sounds would have got more money. The only way out of this is for the business to show the procedures and measures it used to resolve this like,

1. What ads were placed in what papers to enforce the use of the vehicle to recover outstandings.
2. Where and what date was the vehicle auctioned and who was the auctioneer who handled the auction.
3. What was the hammer down price that the vehicle sold for at auction.

Sorry other posts were up b4 I finished this 1, We now know the car wasn't auctioned, Well according to an employee of the business NOT the business owner.

what 4 other people? Show us the threads, dont perpetuate a possible lie

I'm not on anyones side as I too have been fucked by a workshop before but I wont specifically mention any names.

Before anyone goes bad mouthing this company I think it would be wise for the other threads or links to be brought up so we can have some proof not just hear say

there are posts in this thread regarding it.

I'm not on anyones side as I too have been fucked by a workshop before but I wont specifically mention any names. And have been fucked around by customers as well - People dont understand how expensive running a shop or a performance shop really is all the expensive shit isn't free and they dont get them that much cheaper than what they sell them for.

I don't think its always that simple tho hey.

They're still going to want payment for their labour etc..

Workshops need to do what is asked, no more, no less. If there is more to be done, the owner needs to be consulted before it goes ahead.

I've heard so many times before where people take there car somewhere and the workshop take it upon themselves to do all this work that wasnt requested then expect payment for it. It's bullshit.

No it wouldnt be. BUT it is YOUR property and if you dont authorise someone to do certain work on your car who are they to try and make you pay for it??

If he has signed papers etc - Then why is he fighting it?? i dont understand.. to many holes in both stories IMO.

and yes who owns the car now???

1 reason i love my machanics down the road from my house

i put my car in to get brakes done, but before any work had been started he rang me to tell me i needed new rotors and have the brakes bleed i said fine do it, but atleast before work had started on it he asked if it was ok, told me how much it would cost and if i agreed , if not he was more than happy for me to pick up the car and take else where,

its just about keeping in contact with the customers and making sure they are happy with the work and the price, and price should be mention not as a it will cost approx this, it should be it will cost $x amount no more no less

I totally agree on their work being expensive, however, the quality of the workmanship is VERY HIGH as I have seen with my own eyes. Not many other workshops in Brisbane can attest to that... You really do get what you pay for and if you expect to do something on the cheap, this workshop definitely isn't going to help you, until you fuck it up and ask them to fix it properly...

There is a difference between "cheap" and "realistic" and then there is "unrealistic" or just "utter bullshit"

I also know plenty of workshops in brisbane who do great work for those "realistic" prices.

Personally, I don't think he would give two shits what anyone thought about his workshop. Considering the backlog of work I believe his workshop has, I don't think it would bother him at all if a few people complained here and there... Look at what happened when people started saying another big name workshop was closing down due to bankruptcy last week... People don't know shit in this town... They gossip, bitch, moan, etc etc, I'm sure you know all about it, after all, you probably left a certain forum because of these reasons, correct? Get my point?

than again like my dad always says bad publicity is still publicity,

about 5 years ago my mother worked for a kitchen company who had some lady complain took it to a current affair and the papers.
mum was all worried that it would slow the business down even more than it was already (business no longer exists) but infact it helped because after awhile people only remembered the name of the business not why they remember the business
