I actually got the same treatment when I was looking at putting in an sr20 in my datto. He was my best friend, sat me down, gave me a drink telling me it would cost around $15000 for drive in, drive out. Told me I can come with them to their special events and all that cr@p. Glad I never got any work done with them. |

QUOTE(oovro @ Apr 1 2008, 11:37 PM) Im sorry i will have to say your wrong there. I am a business and have gone through this process. They can keep the car as they have a special interest in the vechele due to moneies owed for services rendered. You have 6 months to pick up your car and pay the bill. They can not charge you for storeage fees however. If you do not pick up your car by the end of 6 months the company must then place an add in at least 2 i think newspapers that curculate the state. after that they must apply for an order to sell your car through the courts under the uncollected goods act. Once they have obtained the grant they must sell the car at a public auction. If they have not followed this to a the letter they are in breach of Queensland law and then they can be sued and or charged with motor theift. You can only charge for the nominated repairs, other repairs that werent quoted and/or authorised you do not have to pay for. I probally should of been more precise with what I was saying, but it was 11pm. ![]() QUOTE(I8ADX @ Apr 2 2008, 07:17 AM) What does that mean in english? What it means is, if you say the business's name one of two things will happen. You will get a warn level increase and you will be placed on mod review for a period of no shorter than 7 days. Mod review entails that when you post a topic/reply to a topic, the rest of the forum wont see it until one of us moderators review it first and decide whether or not it should be allowed to be viewed. ie: depending on time of day and realitive business of the moderators, it could take two or three hours or more for your post/topic to be viewed by other people. It has already been mention by Manic about last warnings etc, so anyone deliberately ignoring that will be placed instantly on mod review. |

QUOTE(I8ADX @ Apr 1 2008, 11:48 PM) why did my random pic get removed ? thought this was a public forum in a democratic country that promotes the right of free speech. Do we look like a country of fat, ignorant bastards who shoot eachother stealing Satellite TV and sing the Star Spangled Banner? Australia has no legal freedom of speech, it's an implied right. Regardless, you've joined a privately owned and run forum with rules, of which you clicked the 'Agree' button to, so they can do whatever they want. QUOTE(I8ADX @ Apr 2 2008, 07:17 AM) What does that mean in english? It's means you get in trouble. Wooden spoon? Leather belt? Smack smack? Clearing it up for you a bit more? QUOTE(MarcD @ Apr 2 2008, 08:49 AM) Jeebus. The very first thing anyone should have done the moment there is a dispute and property is seized is speak to a solicitor (if the police wont intervene because it is a civil matter). Ah but he tried calling some! Because they're going to tell him everything they know without seeing a cent.. ROCK ON R~R |

QUOTE(NewlyAwakeN @ Apr 1 2008, 10:26 PM) As someone said previously, dont' pay the loan and let the bank reclaim your car. This might mean you can't get a loan for a year due to bad name etc, but it's better then paying for a car you don't have. Also, please keep this civil and well mannered or it will be closed. Also, could someone please PM myself the name and location of this business for personal reasons. Thank you. ahh check your facts, he said its unsecured meaning the bank isnt going to chase nothing but HIM for the money and its 5 years on record for a default to a credit reporting agency, good luck getting a loan. |

Solicitors are not THAT expensive. Certainly cheaper than forking out the extra few thousand dollars that the workshop is trying to charge him. It is by far the cheapest of your two options. |

QUOTE(KONVICKT @ Apr 2 2008, 10:10 AM) words out on cb And? Should that make a difference to the thread starter that the owner of said buisness is now aware that one of his customers is unhappy with the service/work provided? (provided thread starters comments are true, although given comments elsewhere in this thread, it appears to be true). Perhaps the owner themselves could care to shed some light, after all a story is only story until both sides are heard, right? |

QUOTE(TwinCam16 @ Apr 2 2008, 10:22 AM) pointless fucked group anyway. Same could be said about boost... The thing I don't understand is WHY would a workshop go out of there way to take a car worth $30k or thereabouts, knowing full well how even an untrue rumour on a few big internet forums can destroy a business. I mean fuck, would that really be worth it? There has to be another side to this. Just hope they see ti and reply and don't try to ignore it. Fuck they just set up a dyno, it's not like they are in it for the short term to take people's money and run Looking forward to the reply later on |
