Okay, this is a bit of a gripe, but i wont add buisness names in the post. My story is that i need to get a Haltech Interceptor installed & tuned for my car. I have found that there is only two haltech endorsed places in the NT, one of which doesn't work on weekends, so i decide to go for the one that does due to the fact i live in katherine and have to travel on the weekends. anyway i call the tuner, who is free for that weekend and is more than happy to tune my car. orgainse it for the weekend, places, times etc... come friday arvo i decide to call to make sure that it's all still good and i get a "oh, i forgot, sorry i can't do it this weekend, will book it for same time next weekend" good thing i checked otherwise i would have wasted a 600km round trip. so next friday comes along and i call again just to be sure.. "oh, i forgot about you, sorry i wont be in darwin, can't do it, it will have to be next weekend" by this time i'm a little frustrated, but it's the NT, you have to live with it. So, the next weekend comes around and i check again before i leave to go to darwin, and yes he is in darwin and it's "all good to go" according to the tuner. I leave on Sat morning, and when i get to darwin the first words out of the tuner's mouth are "hello, i don't think i can do it this weekend as i don't have your car's wiring diagram !!" you would think that you would check this before your customer arrives don't you ??? i'm very annoyed, and after running around to the dealers to find them closed, and calling about 12 interstate dealers to try and locate the wiring diagram, I give up, and have to go home "empty handed" however the tuner has said that he will "drop by my work on Tuesday the following week to install it for me". cool i thought, that's the least he can f&cking do after stuffing me around. anyway come tuesday, no show, no word from the tuner at all. after trying to call him several times on his phone i finally get to him and he says "sorry i was held up, will be there tomorow morning at 10:30". I am pissed off, as i had to go through a lot of hoops to try and get approval to get this clown to my workplace as i work on the RAAF base at tindal. anyway, it's now wed arvo and i'm still waiting for the clown to show up. but guess what, no show, no word from him, no answer on the phone.... I wouldn't be so upset if he just called now and then to tell me of what's going on, as i have to stuff around for two work days to try and cater for him, but he fails to show both times. and this is after two previous occasions where if i didn't call to confirm, i would have wasted trips to darwin and my weekends. you just can't win in the NT. but screw this tuner, i'm going to his competition in the new year, i reckon they may appreciate my money a bit more than this guy. and if you are reading this Mr tuner, pick up your game. from what i have heard from others, this is becoming a common occurance with you. end rant -------------------- ![]() www.hyperaustralia.com |

id like to know too.... got the same excuses from one of the haltech dealers in darwin (this time the problem was microtech related)... turned out that despite having claimed to have used the system for years he was a complete novice and was trying to buy himself time. |

Coz the taste would be a lot more sour if he'd actually done the work for you. The quality of his work is absolutely abysmal. I speak from very bitter experience with this tossbag. HTT ftw. ![]() |

yeah PM is the best way. People can comment on an engine that blew up and blame the builder because they had this misconstrued thought in their pee sized brains that there car will be all that it goes boom due to a mechanical fault unbeknown to the mechanic. Maybe a previous damage. Than the mechanic can get on here read all the chit chat and boom LAW suit for defamation of character and so on. Two much hassle if you really wanna know then use PM but remember just cos someone tells you they got ripped off may just be because their said vehicle did not run a 6 sec 1/4. SEE WHAT WE MEAN. |

Aint that right Ken ![]() yeah your right .. dont name names if possible.. keep to Pm only.. But people do have the right to know. i wont openly slander this business or mechanic but will happly give details in PM but just to confirm the magna in the pics was built and tuned primarily by this tuner .. fuel system ... engine... management ect .... and the Mr2 had a Haltech ecu installed with new fly loom and fuel system modifications including lines and fuel tank modification(all shown on invoice) .... took the man ... 6-8 months ... 12 hours after owner paid and picked up the car fuel line came off and torched the engine bay and the rest of the car within minutes.. |

Premier is the only workshop with an AWD dyno, almost any workshop in Darwin can hire it out and take your car there to tune and stuff. Because its the only one I believe the price is up there a lil. The guys for JSM told me they were getting one and will only charge $99.... Don't know when thats happening tho..................... |
