QUOTE(Ris00 @ Nov 23 2007, 07:54 AM) how do you go about getting the new updated maps for these navman, tom tom and things? are they expensive? When i bought maps for my garmin gpsmap60csx it was almost $300!! and i only get the first update free!! Just go to the relevant manufacturer website - It usually costs between $100-$150 to update the maps for the whole country. But yes, ~$300 is the general price for maps from scratch. There has been rumour that they're planning on releasing the updates in regions, so you can just update say Queensland, instead of all of Australia - useful if you never leave the State and have to pay for everywhere else. Generally though, unless you're someone who works/lives in new estates, you can get away with older versions. ROCK ON R~R |

I've seen more Navmans back than 'your' company owns. Heck I've had one guy go through five of them alone. Having said that, there's a software patch available from their website. I also know you can pick up a XL with a soft case for $388. ROCK ON R~R |

I got mine for a flys dick over $800 if I remember correctly, from ryda.com.au .... Was a while before the 720 was released, so rrp was still well over $1000. Ryda has some half decent prices, and the two GPS units I've bought from there both arrived in 24 hours of the order (with all the freebies they promise)... Pretty decent store imo, A+++, will use again, gl with it, nice piks. |
