Not sure whether I'll be making it out for November, few things going on with the car and end of semester so I'll have to wait it out.

Hot weather here we come!

I found that a cooling panel worked wonders to keep temps down in the GT-R ...

Dunno if you can buy an off the shelf one for an FC but you could probably knock one up if you have a bit of metal skill smile.gif

will see how i go with getting the evo out on the track, i am doing a lot of work in the saloon atm smile.gif was going to take it out this friday but i don't think i will have time. v6 saloon with no power compared to the evo still does 1:05 on clubman only 5 seconds short of the evo :S...

maybe i should get 6 pots for the evo smile.gif

I believe thats PHATCORE smile.gif

For those of you that don't know what a 'cooling panel' is, it's basically a panel which sits on your radiator support and forces incoming air from the front bar down into your radiator instead of 'spilling' over the top of it

Here's the Garage Defend cooling panel I had on the GT-R ... carbon fibre bling happy.gif

Yes, You can get them off the shelf... Phatcore made one himself... I might have to get the template he used and make one also... Shouldn't be hard. I will also have to tape up the areas around the radiator also, there used to be foam there, but it was removed when the old radiator was taken out, and never put back in.

Also, does anyone know if there are brake bleed nipples which incorporate a one way valve (i.e. to make bleeding the brakes a bit easier)? My current nipples have had the hex pattern (not sure of correct terminology here...) rounded by my incompetent self, so I figure if I have to replace them, why not look for something better??? Otherwise, should I be able to get standard brake bleed nipples from my local repco?

Yes there are. They're called Speed Bleeders. They fit over your existing nipples and incorporate a one way valve allowing for quick and easy one person bleeding. You pop in a hose to feed into a bucket/bottle, open the valve and start pumping the brakes.

http://www.speedbleeder.com

I believe that Rocket Industries are a distributor for them, but last time I looked into ordering them, they were pretty unhelpful - would be better ordering them from the States (works out a lot cheaper with the excellent exchange rate at the moment as well).

Edit: Not that expensive anyway, looking at about $7USD per bleeder, and around $6USD for a full set - So under $50AUD for a full set posted

Looks exactly what I was looking for! My only concern would be how strong is the spring? how would you know when it has let go?? Now, I have to figure out what size nipple to get...

I've only ever heard positive reports about them though.

Jamie... sorry this is a bit OT.. I couldn't find a better place for it..

Im organising a small group buy.. exclusive to this thread... Speed Bleeders.. PM me or reply what you need, and I will get a quote. I don't want more than 5 or 6 people, I would like to keep the order to under 400$

A quick currency exchange prices these at about $7.80 each.

So let me start...

1. Garlic - 4 x SB7100, 4 x SB8100 1 x Bag + Hose

Small warning about the speedbleeders here: http://fc3spro.com/TECH/MODS/BRAKES/speedbleed.htm

Hopefully this link works: http://store.summitracing.com/egnsearch.as...+115+4294845333

It should put you onto the Russell brake bleeders page.. you can select your vehicle using this, and the product description should provide enough information to match up a product on the speedbleeders page: http://www.speedbleeder.com/size.htm

You need to be careful though, I found it wasn't 100% correct for my car... ie it had the specs for the n/a spec fc, not the turbo which has beefier brakes up front...

neil_se
Post #1116

How do these compare to the one-man bleeders? I guess the valves themselves look a lot more reliable.

Cheers, the US 300zx should be a match.

garlic - I noticed that a similar warning is actually on the Speedbleeder site, of which they don't pass off the opportunity to onsell a bottle of sealant for $10USD.
