Surprisingly I haven't been picked on much since. Just the one hooning situation when the law first came in where the cops were wrong again and had absolutely no case. I've never seen either of the cops again actually.

Go into service tas jase, ask for a "stat dec" form, write a full account of the situation from the perspective that you don't own a green holden (the different street wont get you anywhere, its only your address). If you make it sound like you're well enough informed about the law and stuff you'll get away with it.

He doesnt need to fill out a stat dec Pat, he needs to write a letter to The Commander if anything. Stat decs are only if you are admitting fault.

I would ignore it aswel.. this cop got most of it wrong so you can also state that he also got the rego wrong which sounds like the only bit he got right. If they got the address wrong then how are they going to inform you anyway. Ignore it,, and then if it somehow comes in the post for you perhaps just put on the envelope "Return to Sender (Wrong Address)" and play cheek as long as you can. It's more work for them :P

pay the $80 fine and take the 1 point... by the time you go to court and everything else its highly unlikely you'll even get off as it has your name, license number and registration number of the car you own the fact that the cop knows jack about cars is nothing thats likely to get you off... mate got bocked for doin well over the speed limit and when the summons came it had the wrong rego number on it turned out it was the rego number of a caterpiller roller and given the speed he was doing it was quite funny anyway long story short took it to court didnt get off and ended up costing him more than it would've in the first place...

jason dude am i the only one who read it rite?

59 in a 50? that is not a fineable offence. you must be 10kph over the signed limit. unless its changed???????????

also go to court. just because the cop who gave you the ticket will most likely have to show. especially if you make a big deal of it. and keep complainging up untill the trial.

its well worth it, just to see the look on that c#nts face.

worst comes to worst you only have to pay $40 extra. and can argue that you wasnt speeding and agree to pay the fine but not loose the point.

Got this in an email, thought it might cheer a few people up......

>> Bad day at work???
>>
>> This is even funnier when you realize it's real!
>> Next time you have a bad day at work, think of this guy.
>> Rob is a commercial saturation diver for Global Divers in Louisiana.
>> He performs underwater repairs on offshore drilling rigs.
>> Below is an E-mail he sent to his sister.
>>
>> She then sent it to a radio station in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, that was
>> sponsoring a 'worst job experience' contest.
>> Needless to say, she won.
>>
>> Hi Sue,
>> Just another note from your bottom-dwelling brother.
>> Last week I had a bad day at the office.
>> I know you've been feeling down lately at work, so I thought I would
>> share my dilemma with you to make you realize it's not so bad after all.
>> Before I can tell you what happened to me, I first must bore you with a
>> few technicalities of my job.
>> As you know, my office lies at the bottom of the sea. I wear a suit to
>> the office. It's a wetsuit. This time of year the water is quite cool.
>> So what we do to keep warm is this:
>> We have a diesel-powered industrial water heater.
>> This $20,000 piece of equipment sucks the water out of the sea, heats
>> it to a delightful temperature, then pumps it down to the diver through
>> a garden hose which is taped to the air hose.
>> Now this sounds like a darn good plan, and I've used it several times
>> with no complaints.
>>
>> What I do, when I get to the bottom and start working, is take the hose
>> and stuff it down the back of my wetsuit. This floods my whole suit with
>> warm water. It's like working in a Jacuzzi. Everything was going well
>> until all of a sudden, my bum started to itch.
>> So, of course, I scratched it....This only made things worse.
>> Within a few seconds my bum started to burn!
>> I pulled the hose out from my back, but the damage was done.
>> In agony I realized what had happened.
>> The hot water machine had sucked up a jellyfish and pumped it into my
>> suit.
>> Now, since I don't have any hair on my back, the jellyfish couldn't stick
>> to it.
>> However, the crack of my bum was not as fortunate.
>> When I scratched what I thought was an itch, I was actually grinding the
>> jellyfish into the crack of my bum.
>> I informed the dive supervisor of my dilemma over the communicator.
>> His instructions were unclear due to the fact that he, along with five
>> other divers, were all laughing hysterically.
>> Needless to say I aborted the dive.
>> I was instructed to make three agonizing in-water decompression stops
>> totalling thirty-five minutes before I could reach the surface to begin
>> my
>> chamber dry decompression. When I arrived at the surface, I was wearing
>> nothing but my brass helmet.
>> As I climbed out of the water, the medic, with tears of laughter running
>> down his face, handed me a tube of cream and told me to rub it on my bum
>> as soon as I got in the chamber.
>> The cream put the fire out, but I couldn't poo for two days because my
>> bum was swollen shut.
>> So, next time you're having a bad day at work, think about how much
>> worse it would be if you had a jellyfish shoved up your ar*e.
>> Now repeat to yourself, I love my job, I love my job, I love my job.
>> Remember whenever you have a bad day, ask yourself, is this a jellyfish
>> bad day?
>> May you NEVER have a jellyfish bad day!!!!!
>>
>> Love.....Rob

QUOTE
Statutory Declarations
Under the provisions of Section 132 of the Oaths Act 2001, a Statutory Declaration is a written statement of facts in a formal, solemn document.

A Statutory Declaration must be signed in the presence of a Justice of the Peace or Commissioner for Declarations in order to make the declaration legally binding.

A person who makes a false statement in a Statutory Declaration is guilty of a crime (Criminal Code Act 1924 s113) and can be fined, or given a gaol term or both. For these penalties, the person making the statement would have to know that the statement was false at the time it was made.

The application form is available below in PDF format:

Statutory Declaration Form - PDF - 8kb

Step 1: Fill in the stat dec form with your version of events, if you want to have any success though you'll take it from the angle that u werent speeding and you dont drive a green commo (can be as many pages as necessary btw)

Step 2: go to police station or service tas and get someone to sign it for you (cop shop is better, i went to service tas when i did mine and the stupid bitch said something along the lines of "oh i cant sign that or id have to go to court for you!" f**king incompetent bitch, went over to the cop shop and the guy was helpful as.

Step 3: after u get it formally signed, send that shit away....

email to [email protected] or;

mail to GPO Box 308, Hobart, TAS, Australia 7001

n.b - if your 21 days is up and still no reply, dont pay it yet, mine took about 28 days from fine to getting a reply and i paid it, ive since learned that they'll send you a "you have 14 days to pay or we'll summons you" after your 21 days is up

Got some aluminium swarf in my eye yesterday (was wearing safety glasses too), didn't hurt too much at the time but this morning at about 3am........BY CHRIST IT HURT!!!!!

Went to the doc this morning, pulled out the aluminium, have a scratched eyeball, have an eyepatch and back to work tomorrow.
GRRRRRRRRRRR...........(or is it Arrrrgh??)

Dunno where this "10k's over" bullshit came from. It is generally accepted that cops will allow a 10% tolerance for speedo irregularity (as 10% is the maximum allowable under ADR's) but if they wanted to be a prick they could book you for 81 in an 80 zone. Not their problem that your speedo is out.

I got cautioned the other day for 91 in an 80 zone. For once I didn't even know I was speeding, it was a genuine surprise. Good wake up call to stop speeding. Everybody needs a good kick up the bum occasionally.

lasers have to be calibrated as well... use them at work quite a lot at work and are often known to be wrong so dont think that... as i said unless it was calibrated that morning i wouldnt trust it to be correct to the km... and then how do you know it hasnt been dropped, have condensation in it, rolled around in the back of the cop car... number of factors can lead to a laser losing its calibration...

Necx0

and if it had been calibrated 5 mins before you were caught you would have to cop the fine. However it was just to illustrate a point.....
