Just a quick question, are you allowed to put a baby seat in the back of an hilux xtra cab, we are thinking of getting one, but need to make sure u can do this? I think special anchor points would need to be fitted. Is this coreect? Thanks

If you get a spacecab with the rear seats, you can carry passengers up to the age of 8 or 10 cant remember the exact age. So in saying that if you do that and get the anchor point fitted it should be fine just remember you will only get a seat in there in the upright position. There is not enough room for a capsule in there.

What do you class as an xtra cab, just a dual cab?

Ive got an 87 hilux dual cab as a daily driver work ute, and if you pull the seats foward there are little black stickers on each side of the back wall of the cab. Later models are the same.
All you do is peel those stickers off, buy the anchor hook from Big W for 10 bucks, screw it in and then fit the seat. Seat can be fitted in the rearward facing position for young babies too, bit squashy but we have had ours in this position with still enough room for the missus to sit in the front seat.

Hey the extra cab we are looking to purchase has 2 doors, not 4. Our child is 4 months old so his seat will need to go in the rearward position. Thanks for the info mate.

This is a Hilux Xtra cab. They can have a seat put in the rear for kids.

My extra cab has anchor points for child seats, one on each side, there was a baby seat in there when I went to look at it first....this is a 93 so even the early ones have em. Pretty sure if I car has rear seats it MUST have anchor points by law
