Here is a compilation of cars running around on the Saturday. Hopefully I managed to include some members from here.

umm.... (looks at ever decreasing list of excuses)

I was going to wait till I had a decent set of rims/tires but after last saturday, I can't wait any longer. Expect to see me out there next event...

hopefully I can get round the circuit without spinning... after watching many cars take many different lines through turn 6, I think I have a line sorted that I won't spin on...

just curious, whats the casualty rate from off at these events. I wouldn't mind havin a go for a bit of fun. is it a bring a helmet, long pants/sleeves scenario, or do i need other mods?

Rookie ROX
Post #432

Rarely any serious casualities, normally just mechanical issues. The main places for any spins or whatnot are well clear of walls or barriers - unless of course someone drops their load of oil at the straight exiting turn 2 : hyper.gif

And yes minimum requirements are a helmet (can be hired for $5) and long sleeves/pants. Too easy.

cars have been known to break down... I count 3 rotary engines that have died out there. Lost count the number of gear boxes...

The last sprints was the first time I saw car-car contact... this was caused by the first car dumping oil through turn 2 and parking at the exit, and the next lap another car losing traction in the same oil and over steering into the front of the parked car...

I won't mention the written off ford thanks to the other fords oil dump at the end of the first straight sad.gif

and I will be attending the 13/6 WAS. If I have a set of 17x7's by then Ill even have some decent tires!

jezza323
Post #434

yeah ill be at the WAS on the 13th with a new set of tyres and wheels too smile.gif

thats a poor excuse. sort it out tongue.gif why not geet someone else to take the photos for you? i'm sure someone would be willing to come out for a day to watch the sprints.

jezza323
Post #440

once u get racing u will stop caring about taking photos, cos the photos u want will be of your car with you in it tongue.gif

i used to take heaps of photos at sprints, but once i started doing it i gave up smile.gif

neil_se
Post #441

Do you really need to pre-enter for the WAS? They're not that busy are they?

jezza323
Post #442

not normally, but you can save $25 smile.gif plus there is almost 3 months till the next SAS, so this is likely to be more busy than a normal WAS

Not saying that I'm not going to try my best to get out there again and have a fang.

It's more that I take pride in the photography work that I've been doing and am going to miss that aspect a bit ...

until I hit turn 1 in 4th gear happy.gif

that rotary datto was running a bit rich smile.gif
there are even flames shooting out of the exhaust !

i follow him around for a lap or 2 on the one decent run that i had once i figured out my fuel problem.
the wrx at the start is running normal road tyres

I've been trying to capture it blowning a bit ass flame for ages (same with PHATCORE's) but I always seem to just get smoke tongue.gif

In this picture you can see how much overfueling is going on even from this distance

When are we going to see em again?

I'm selling the GT-R and making way for a new project which I've just acquired smile.gif

Will be ALOT cheaper then trying to modify the GT-R for track so I can concentrate my finances in other areas facesjump.gif

The CRX should make a return next session and it looks to go quicker again smile.gif

You'll have to wait and see smile.gif

With any luck the project should be up and running by the end of the year ...

Unfortunately it will mean I'll be testing it in the harshest circuit conditions with the summer temps but by then I'll probably just be happy to be out there smile.gif
