I've been reading up a bit lately that people are removing their rear sway bars to gain a bit more 'give' in the rear which i can only assume would give more traction. |

QUOTE(Mase @ May 18 2007, 12:19 AM) I've been reading up a bit lately that people are removing their rear sway bars to gain a bit more 'give' in the rear which i can only assume would give more traction. in saying this i recently put a rather large 27mm rear sway bar in the back of my S13. it came from a Laurel which is a much bigger vehicle. Since doing this the car just spits the ass end out predictably but still spits it out nice and easy........ Many people heading out Saturday? I wanted to but didn't get my engine back in quick enough!! your sway bar is there to minimise body roll. how you tune these things all comes down to personal preference really. the way i set mine up was to stiffen the rear sway bar and to soften up the rear shocks. so when i accelerate out of a corner i get a lot of squat in the rear giving more traction, and much less body roll. again though, everyone will have a different way of going about things. find what works best for you. |

my car has off the shelf "low" springs, KYB Excel-G shocks and big swaybars front and rear. those who have seen it on the track will be able to confirm that there is almost no body roll. it has a very pliable ride on the crappy brisbane roads (IMO) but handles very well. |

I agree, its up to experimentation and personal preference to determine what works best, also what works well on one car may not work at all on another car. |

also, you dont need to be at a race track to see how your setup is. just take it through your local twisties (at the speed limit of course) and see how it reacts to the changes you make. stop, make another adjustment and keep going. one thing you must remember though, is to ONLY EVER ADJUST ONE SETTING AT A TIME! if you make numerous changes at once you could upset you current setup, and not know which part is causing the problem. follow this and you should be fine. experimentation is the key |

Unless you want to try ur luck, it's best to call up and get them to reserve your credit for nxt time. I called up earlier in the week and they said it would be alright. |
