One of my favourite street cars, especially in the Japanese category would have to be from the crazy tuning giant that is Top Secret. Top Secret built a Toyota Supra with the intentions of making it looks like a JGTC race car and instead of modifying the stock 2JZ engine they instead fitted a 3SGTE engine from a Toyota MR2. And so the Top Secret GT300 Supra was born.
It has approximately 800 hp from it's Trust T88 (the biggest bad boy) turbocharged engine.
I read that the car has been since sold to a customer in Dubai where it has reportedly travel more than 326km/h!
If you want a body kit like this for your Supra I record that costs about 8000 american dollars (I think) check the website www.topsecretjpn.com

let me know if this has been posted before/if it qualifies:

The Silver Sting was designed by Zoltan Peredy, who a couple of years ago created a Smart-size city car with gullwing doors. The coupe is powered by a 3.6-liter, 437-horsepower six-cylinder engine lifted from a Porsche 911GT3, and is of extremely lightweight construction. Bodis plans to race it both in Hungary and abroad. 0-100 km/h: 3.8s

Apparently only 2 have been produced at a cost of over 800.000 euros

1. 255 mph: 2005 Hennessey SRT-10 Viper Venom 1000 Coupe

FASTER THEN THE VEYRON by 1-2 mph, same power but weighs 500kg less...and is pretty cheap considering

28 October, 2005, Houston, TX - Hennessey Performance Engineering will be featuring its first 2006 Venom 1000 Twin Turbo Viper SRT10 Coupe at the SEMA show in Las Vegas.

On display will be the 2006 Venom 1000 Coupe, number 01 of 24. With its black on black color scheme and 20x13 rear wheels it is surely going to be a highlight of the event.

The Venom 1000 Coupe comes after very successful convertible version which won Road & Tracks standing mile shootout. Finishing the distance at 25.6 seconds, the Venom 1000 was .3 seconds faster than the Saleen S7 Twin Turbo.

Like the convertible, the Coupe doubles the stock horsepower rating of the Viper to bring the figure up to 1000 bhp! To reach this level of performance, the Venom has been bored, stroked and pressurized to 15psi. This system includes JE Pistons, Manley Rods and twin Garret Turbos, custom headers & and a unique exhaust system.

Chassis mofications include Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires, a VenomAero front bumper, KW adjustable suspension, 5-point harnesses, Quaiffe differential upgrade and many more available options.

Hennessey says that the Venom 1000 Coupe is the fastest and most powerful limited-edition street car in the world. Only 24 will be built for the 2006 production year. He is now taking orders for 2006 delivery. Infact, you can buy one directly off hennesseyperformance.com/ right now.

To put the dp1 in perspective, consider that it has the horsepower of a Ferrari F360 but weighs 2,200 lbs less! That's right, this is not a typo - the dp1 is a full metric ton lighter than the Ferrari. And it's All-Wheel-Drive. Let that sink in for a while. Then read on.

Wheelbase: 80.5"

Length: 113"

Width: 71"

Height: 39" (top of rollbar)

Ground Clearance: 2.5"

Drivetrain: proprietary AWD system with chain drive and Quaife limited slip differentials

Chassis: carbon monocoque, quick-change bodywork

Wheels: 13x8 Tires: 225/45-13 Hoosier R6 or 20x8-13 race slicks

Engine: Custom 2800cc V8, 375hp @10,000 RPM, 220 lb-ft @6500 RPM

Gearbox: 5-speed sequential with reverse

Weight: 850lb

Power/weight: 970 hp/metric ton (2.25 lb/hp)

GARAGE SAURUS FERRARI 550 MARANELLO TWIN TURBO

QUOTE
Narutoshi Hayashi is one of the most respected tuners in Japan. His shop, Garage Saurus (e-mail: hayashi @saurus2000.co.jp), has built some of the craziest machinery to terrorize the streets, drag strips and road courses of Japan. No matter what racing discipline in which his cars have participated, they were always victorious. He’s a Skyline GT-R man through and through, but last year he decided to embark on a slightly different project, something that would have the Garage Saurus treatment applied to a non-Japanese car. Enter the indomitable Ferrari 550 Maranello you see here.

Hayashi was approached by the owner of the 550, who got fed up at the lack of tuneup parts for Maranello’s V12 flagship (this was before the 599 GTB was announced). He concluded that his only option was to go the custom route, so he sent his pride and joy all the way to Japan, from his home in Jakarta, Indonesia. Hayashi was instructed to “go crazy with the car.” The owner wanted the first and only twin-turbo 550 on the planet. A target of 800 hp to 900 hp was set, but the most important factor was to keep the car driveable as it was to remain a primarily street-oriented ride.

So the work began. The engine was stripped and parts examined to see what components needed to be upgraded to take the additional stresses that forced induction would bring to the equation. Upon close examination, Hayashi concluded that the Maranello’s 5.4-liter V12 was a tough old motor and needed only a few upgrades to be ready for the turbo treatment. He contacted OS Giken, one of Japan’s better-known engine component specialists, to have custom parts made.

OS Giken accepted the challenge and built extremely tough cylinder liners and a set of forged lightweight pistons. To assure the best possible performance under the harshest conditions, it was also deemed necessary to upgrade the gears of the dry-sump oil pump. The engine was further sealed up with tough metal head gaskets and finished with custom camshafts.

Then the work of fabricating the headers and various piping began. The two HKS turbo-chargers would be mounted between the banks and wheel arches, while the HKS GT wastegates and their atmosphere-venting screamer pipes were snugly positioned below the headers. ARC fabricated the twin-entry aluminum intercooler and the titanium exhaust system.

It was a tough job, but Garage Saurus did an amazing conversion from both an aesthetic and a mechanical point of view. In fact, the finished engine bay looks so clean it could have rolled off the factory production line at Maranello.

Next up was the driveline. OS Giken stepped in again with a custom-made triple-plate clutch, an item designed to take in excess of 1000 hp and the brutal torque this twin-turbo V12 would generate. The transaxle-type gearbox was taken apart and fitted with a rugged limited-slip differential, again built by OS Giken.

The final step was the creation of a full body kit to give the 550 that FIA GT race car look. Then the car was shipped off to Jakarta, where the owner was more than impressed with it. In fact, he has gotten so used to the power, he wants to up the boost and shoot for a bunch more ponies!

For those not interested in forced induction, Garage Saurus has just put the finishing touches on another 550 Maranello. We went to see the first run of this new car at Fuji Speedway, where it was rocketing around the Formula One circuit with amazing speed.

The not-so-extreme series of modifications includes a custom intake system with cone filters, cooling upgrades in the way of a larger radiator and oil cooler, full exhaust system, the aforementioned OS Giken clutch and diff, and a racing suspension kit.

It is great to see such a well-established shop go out of its usual area of expertise and build something so unique. Best of all, as Hayashi says, is how “damn good” the twin-turbo car turned out. It is apparently “so easy to drive, you can use it to go grocery shopping!”

Old School Horsepower Hero: 12.9-litre V8 Cobra

Weineck Cobra 780CUI Limited Edition

QUOTE
Now this is something for the horsepower heroes out there: an AC Cobra replica assembled in Germany that features a 780 cubic inch V8. That's a truly huge engine, and the Weineck Cobra 780CUI Limited Edition is no slouch - the company claims the vehicle is the "world’s most powerful car is powered by a naturally aspirated V8 engine with the highest power output and torque of all road-legal cars".

In the metric scale, the engine measures 12.9-litres, or more than twice the size of the latest Holden Commodore 6.0-litre V8, and features internals that have been precision machined to Formula 1 standards.

Air scoops can be seen on many vehicles to show off, but here it is a technical necessity since this air scoop and the engine bonnet make room for the huge engine that Weineck says will slurp half a litre of fuel just by depressing the accelerator momentarily as the high-performance carburetor system feeds the engine.

The German tuning company has not released 0-100km/h performance numbers because apparently they are not relevant. Instead, the Weineck Cobra 780CUI will rocket from 0-200km/h in 4.9 seconds, and does the 0-300km/h dash in 10 seconds flat.

The 12.9-litre V8 engine can rev to 8000rpm, developing peak power of 809kW or 1100hp @ 7000rpm, which would be enough energy to power a small village in Iceland.

Torque levels for the old-school engine are even more stunning - 1760Nm @ 5600rpm.

Weineck says that the world’s most powerful, strongest and quickest accelerating road-legal car is also equipped with a number of modern driving aids, such as ASR, ESP, ABS and so on. The company claims that even half-way up its rev range - to 4000rpm - the Weineck Cobra accelerates faster than any other super car when fully driven, and that the accelerator pedal always has to be operated very gently and with respect.

"Words cannot describe what will happen if you want to experience the full potential of this ULTIMATE driving machine," says Weineck. "There is just no comparison with anything ever built to be used on the road!!!"

"What happens above 5000rpm is too much for human vocabulary. It’s more like Sol 5 on Starship Enterprise! You feel like being in a time machine with corners approaching so fast that you just won't believe it. From now on, your brain and body have to work at maximum speed. Otherwise it is better not to enter this world…" Dire warning indeed, but this is a truly insane vehicle.

The Weineck Cobra 780CUI Limited Edition is being built using a MIG welded, self-supporting tubular frame (diameter 4-inches) to absorb the incredibly high torsion forces created by the engine, and carbon composite materials are also used to reinforce the body for maximum rigidity.

Made from aluminium and titanium, the suspension system includes a continuously variable coil spring system in conjunction with a specially engineered high-performance brake system (based on Brembo components) with internally ventilated, punched brake discs (front and rear axle) for the highest levels of active safety.

On the front axle, the Weineck Cobra 780CUI Limited Edition is equipped with special Weineck 3-piece 18-inch wheels and intermediate tyres of the dimension 255/40 ZR18. On the rear axle, tyres of the size 315/35 ZR18 are fitted to 18-inch rims.

Power is transferred to the rear axle via a 4-speed extra high-performance gearbox, while the driveshafts and rear axle (equipped with a 75% limited slip differential) are designed for more than 2000Nm of torque.

The interior of the Weineck Cobra 780 cui Limited Edition will be designed individually to meet any customer’s wishes. Normally, the finest British leather is being used for the upholstery of the seats, but custom options are offered nonetheless. All colours, pipings and sewings can be individually chosen and the rest of the passenger compartment is finished by using velour carpets.

For the dashboard, classic Smith instruments are being used and in case of rain, the car is equipped with a soft top to protect both the driver and the interior and if requested, a fixed hardtop is also available.

Each unit of the Weineck Cobra 780 cui Limited Edition is a unique masterpiece of German Engineering. All products used to build a Weineck Cobra 780CUI Limited Edition are engineered and produced by Weineck in Bad Gandersheim, Germany. With a weight-to-power ratio of 0.9Kg/hp, 12.9-litres of engine capacity, 1100hp and 1760Nm of torque, this is quite possibly the ultimate driving machine, a vehicle with the kind of acceleration that would make Enzo Ferrari gasp.

Weineck will build just 15 units worldwide, which will also make it one of the rarest super cars on the planet.
