While trawling over the RX7's on carsales, I came across this. I reckon it's gotta be one of the most unheard of conversions around? Maybe I've lived a sheltered life, but someone who wanted big horsepower (and lets not beat around the bush, if you want big power you go a rotor tongue.gif) but for a Supra owner surely the 2JZ would be the easiest way to go.

Brief Comments WHAT THE?? YES!! A 1989 SUPRA WITH A 13B TURBO-NOT YOUR AVERAGE SUPRA
Long Comments ONE OF A KIND- 1989 TOYOTA SUPRA with a 13BT. The engine has just been rebuilt with a microtech LT8 ECU. I notice it doesn't come with a roadworthy cert. Sounds alright though, I don't mind it.

What do you's think?

Well it's certainly different...

However it would have had a 7MGTE in it to start with, so it's not like he took out a 2JZ for it *shrugs*

Don't really see the gain of having a scrotor in an A70 supra, but more power to him I guess

Just looked at the mods list, if I could find him a 7MGTE do you think he would trade? hsdance.gif

I personally think that's a pretty awesome conversion.

Imagine rocking up to a Supra with some rotary sound tongue.gif

180's and silvias look COMPLETELY different though

Oh and on topic, I reckon you would get some awesome looks rocking up in that with the rotary sound! (I know Jago, you already said that tongue.gif)

I am not doing it to be the first in Australia or anything I am doing it to
1. piss off the Nissan boys

And
2. cause I am starting to get over the shape of my car and I just spent a large sum of cash on my 13bt

Do it luke.

You might have to add some weight to the front of it tho.

As for the supra, 9k is a steal! thats like a 6 - 7k engine right there, you could sell the supra as a rolla for 2k easy i think.

One of the rotor boys should buy it!

i am just looking for an adequate shell i just want a roller cause i will be using everything off my rx 7 apart from box and diff

i wanted to do a silvia cause they are still a fairly attractive shell (my own opinion)

Well your own opinions are what matter.

But 80% of people think 180sx > silvia tongue.gif

None the less i have seen a blue silvia with a 13bt in it somewhere.

Like i said im not 100% sure but i THINK he added weight to the front.

well the way I see it there are cheapish suspension parts every where and they aren’t too bad a looking car if modded correctly (no big gay body kits for me this time)

2 seats a cage and a decent diff/ suspension/brake combo and my motor and blammo tongue.gif instant neck snapper

i dunno what to think of this thing... 7m's are not a bad engine if they are rebuilt properly. But a 13b? personally I wouldnt have done it but it probably would go hard Id like to know how hard though..

should of went 20B instead of a 13B..id take it further and just chuck a 20b..not bad anyway..

My god, lets chuck a 20B in everything we can get our hands on!!!

The 13B is a more than capable engine. There are plenty around with 500hp, few others with 600, and a few making over 700hp. The power that a turbo 20B makes isn't what you want for a streeter. Unless you put it something like an LTD or a Statesman. A 13B in most cars would be fine. I wonder just how many street driven cars, other than Cosmo's, there are. I can only think of one, maybe 2 (although just how much time both see on the road is questionable).

If the MA70 didn't look like a piece of crap it would get my thumbs up. I mean the (13Bt)engine by itself, sitting on a tyre rates higher imo bowrofl.gif

my brother was looking at buying that but he got a black series 5 instead sad.gif

The thing about 20b's are yes they make alot of power.

But hey also make ALOT of torque. And thats not what you want (not in cars that have rotarys anyway, because they are all super light)

Light car + dickloads of torque = eternity of wheel spin.

13b's still make torque, But not untill up top, Which is where you want it.

MZA70 supra's are fairly heavy so an engine like a 13bt is wasted in something like that. Swapping in a 1jz from a Type R JZA70 supra would have been a smarter conversion or even going the whole hog and dropping in a 2jz.

Each to their own though still better than the holden 5.7l harrop stroker engine in mza70 that is also for sale.

he prob blew a head gasket on the supra, realised 13b conversions are cheap, that the 7mgte motor has issues and went with the brap brap power. Good on him. A rx7 is hotter though.

sounds pretty crazy...

Surely that's a bit cheap for what it is. Wonder if they left a 1 off the front when they advertised it.

cheap? it's a Mk3 supra with an engine swap. Asking 19k would just be fucking stupid.
