QUOTE(dat383 @ Mar 15 2007, 09:41 PM) i work for a 4x4 shop and have a fair bit of experience with arb airlockers. all 4x4 hilux's have 28 spline axles. petrol and diesels have different ratios.4.3 and 4.5:1 some early models had different ratios however.some had 4.8's. in 1997 toyota brought out the ifs diff and they were different to earlier diffs. if your airlocker is a rear,it will fit in the front or rear of a pre 97 hilux. ![]() ![]() all hilux live diffs are 30 spline.. except the IFS diff which are 27.... rickyc if the 2002 modle still runs the G series diff (im 99.99% sure it does..not sure about the latset modle tho)then the air locker will come out of that center and fit any other G seires diff.. IE, all the hilux's the way back to the early 70's.. so it wont mater what ratio it is.. just use the locker in your centter.. or put your Ring Gear and Pinion in the 2002 center the locker is in. |

QUOTE(57QLN @ Mar 18 2007, 07:35 AM) I have a 308 in my hilux 2wd and the diff gears are now way to high for it and need a set of 3-7s or 3-9 or something around there does anyone know where I can get some or even if they have ever been made or is it better just to put in a 9 inch I have a 3.54 lsd in my 2wd lux. Bought the gearset many years ago. Its not a standard ratio, but should still be available. At 100km/hr i'm only doing 2200rpm. Has plenty of legs though! Standard in my 99 2wd, auto, was 3.7, which is still a pretty good ratio for you. |
