This has to be somone taking the piss...because it's just way to funny. If your serious, the 4wd light means the car has been doing skids all its life in rwd mode and you sound like you're the type of person that's going to continue this...so don't worry about replacing the fuse. The gearbox..well hahahaha, it means, go to the drags, replace the fuse (just this once) and launch it on limiter to run "fully hecktic times" i'm sure you're a pro racer...take your friends to watch...see what happens. Lastly sell the car and enrol in a basic tafe english course...you need it...badly. Honestly...you've gotten yourself into serious trouble through pure stupidity and you're in way over your head....get to a mechanic asap and start taking extra shifts wherever you work....because this is going to cost you...a lot. Maybe you can sell it to one of your boy racer friends before it breaks..that would be my advice. |

QUOTE(kay nock @ Mar 6 2007, 10:16 PM) how do i turn off the 4WD light in my dash, wont turn off?? this means there is a problem with your 4wd. check the fuse in fuse box, top of 4wd fluid. could be something more serious hence the cheap price you paid. by the way you type you sound young, lets hope you dont treat the roads like a race track. |

It just so happened to have been a recent topic which could easily provide a subtle way of noting an issue. If you don't believe imports have their odometer wound back, you need to stop watching Neighbours reruns 24/7. ROCK ON R~R |

QUOTE(25YKU @ Mar 7 2007, 08:58 AM) you guys that believe ACA need to start watching neighbours, Good luck with your GTR have fun with it Mate since jap import cars became popular in the early 2000's it's been well known that cars were having the odometer fiddled with so the condition of the car matched the number of k's. The japs aren't stupid, they know we buy cars based on km's not condition so the (ab)use that to their advantage. QUOTE(kay nock @ Mar 6 2007, 10:16 PM) Hey guys, i am very happy 2 say dat I am at last a prowd owner of a R32 GTR!! U guys have no idea how bloody rapt i am! Anyways, I had a few questions to ask, how do i turn off the 4WD light in my dash, wont turn off?? does anyone have any problems wit GTR gearbox/transmission? cause my 1 is much louder once it hits 4gear.. and da transmission in general is noisy. I live in melb, does ne1 no of a place where i can take it 2 get it lookd at and if possible get it roadworthy? I have to get a roadworthy, as i bought it at a auction. U guys would never guess how much i picked it up 4!.....hmmm... $14,750! dunno wat u guys think but i reckon dats a bargain! Ohh and I have tears that is the funniest first post to a thread I've seen in ages. |

ffs ya ruthless prics he's just excited about his new GTR, give him a positive heads up rather than abusing him for no good fuckin reason. While I agreed half the posts in this thread are just people coming in here to post jibberish shit ... There have been some very constructive notes posted ... If his car is in good nick then best of luck to him for picking up one of the best Japanese cars of the early 90's ![]() But if what he says is true his car sounds like it's had a tough life and probably needs some costly repairs, which is another reason why buyers should be selective with their purchases and even RESEARCH the car itself ie - is the car costly to maintain - what are common parts that may break/need repair - are the parts affordable to replace in new or used condition Alot of people are going out and buying cars like the R32 GT-R on a shoe string budget and when they break (they are between 18 - 13 years old so most are bound to give out) they just don't have the cash to repair them ... |

Congratulations on buying a GTR.. Though, you have bought a dud. With those problems I wouldn't have paid more then $10k for your car. I would bet 100 bucks that at LEAST two of those cylinders has compression lower then 120PSI... Your Gearbox is screwed, and another 100bucks of top of that says so's your transfer case. LSD is probably worn out.. and with that much damage.. There is no way that its done 60k.. try 160k. But congrats none the less! |

Well it is very hard to diagnose noises over the internet, so you can't say that the gearbox has problems. Could be something else (exhaust rubbing somewhere etc). |

Oooor, tell him the brutal truth that the chances of it being a screwed gearbox and being a lot less of a bargain and more of a big costly exercise getting it up to scratch. ROCK ON R~R |

eek bl kay nock, it seems u bought a dud car.. mayb you shouldn't have rushed into buying this car just because you saw the GTR Badge and thought "WOW A GTR!! So cheap omfg mum n dad buy this" and should have invested your time a little better researching cars and their relative worth from km's:Price .. i would have thought twice about buying a GTR with only 60,000km's on the dash for 15k. Maybe you just got caught up in the moment and got this car, so once again bad luck man. I hope it all works out well for you and the car whatever u decide to do with it; Sell it or fix it.. |
