If your going for points bring the S2000 out to accumulate more ...

If your going for fun bring the Skyline out smile.gif

In other news ...

If I haven't posted a pic of your car up by now leave a post and I'll see if I got a clean shot in my collection ..

Even if I've already posted an image of you you can leave a message ... I may have a few more lurking ...

Enjoy and bring on April's round facesjump.gif

I was gonna race, but my friend made a very valid point:

"Will you be any better on good shitty tires than you were on shitty good tires"

(i recently put on 4 $150 tires... Falken Ze231 or something, someone please tell me thier good.. I really want to get out there!!! this replaced my $250 michelins which survived 9 sprint events biggrin.gif)

so I am going to wait till have I a set of 17's with semi's on them...

Its a similar pattern, but I don't think they are 512's. I will check this arvo when I get home.

Edit: they are Ze329 Ziex's

I'm with evaded, barring any events I should hopefully, finally, be able to get out.

As for the ZE329s, just hope it's not raining. Despite the massive water channel, they're not the greatest handling tyre in the wet, better than what they replaced though. ZE512s are great though, shame I only had them for a week dry.gif

Well they had to be better than what I took off.. they were bald (steel showing on one, and worn through the steel on the other. Actually that isn't fair on the tire, I drove with a bent steering knuckle for about 100kms. Not my smartest decision)

Smooth blink.gif

Comfortable blink.gif

You planning on going for a nice quiet Sunday drive while your out there Garlic tongue.gif

On a serious note ...

If your only looking for semi slicks try Silverstones for bang for buck

ThunderBolt
Post #165

Where can I get a price on Silverstones?

At this stage it looks like I will have to run a pair of street Bridgestone Potenza GIIIs in 225/50/16 in future rounds. The front pair of my old semi-slicks that I had last time are looking rather poor after the last round.

I told the guy I wanted some cheap tires. He told me I should spend $250+, I told him I didn't want to do any performance driving on them, He laughed and gave me these tires...

Well when I have a spare 1K sitting around I will purchase some second hand 17's and find some semi slick rubber to go on them... until then, I guess I am spectating

ive got the silverstones from Z Car Workshop on my car

FTZ-RR's

they only come in a very limited range of sizes though

and ill definately be there for April 14th smile.gif hopefully with a decent seat in the car

Garlics opened up a whole new can of worms laugh.gif

I guess the question can be asked ...

What tyres do you use ?

What tyres have you used ?

How do you rate the tyres you've used in terms of grip, longevity, dry / wet conditions etc etc

I use Accelera's $62 a tyre biggrin.gif

When I needed new tyres I went to Craig and he recommended them and have been using them since.

They are perfect for my car currently with its suspension and tyre size. A stronger sidewall would be good but not much you can do when your running 175/70 13 tyres.

They grip well, not great in the wet but I think thats more my car as they were certainly a big step up from the tyres on it before these.

Longevity = poo. A set lasts me about 2 months.. But I do drive a hell of alot.

jezza323
Post #174

on the street i use Federal 595's (205/40R16) they have lasted me 20,000k's so far and still have a bit left in them, very good in the dry (more so when new) but not that flash in the wet

main reason i got em is i have a contact in the company that imports them to qld smile.gif so they were dirt cheap

I've got a set of the Federal 595 but the 'RS' version ...

The wet part is magnified laugh.gif

I've yet to give them a really good floggin' as my car's suspension wasn't set up last time (read softer then a marshmellow in hell) but they are really good and cheap for dry conditions smile.gif
