go to redbook.com.au go to used cars/select your car and under the specs sections it should tell you the numbers

Not all vin numbers are 17 digits

Most VL numbers have been changed at some stage.

yer wat im tryin to say is, you can look on that site to varify how many digits the vin number is for your VL model. then all you do is cross reference with the numbers on your car...the site usually tells you the first couple of numbers

body/chassis/vin number is the same thing.

once you have the number, to find out if its stolen or has monies owing you do a REVS checks, and that costs like 20-30dollla (i dunno never done it) it tells you if its unrego'd, stolen, or has monies owing on it (finance and crap)

might also help if you improved your grammar, and have more detailed questions next time. helps you get your answer and helps other readers learn on useless shit

No it does NOT tell you if its stolen!

The only things a REVS check will tell you is if there is money owing on that chassis number.

The only way to find out if the vechicle is stolen is to either ring your local police station, or use www.checkitout.com.au

What suburb are you buying it from?

Within 10km of Browns Plains theres a good chances its stolen.

Within 10km of Mains Road theres a good chance its been overheated in traffic.
