honestly the purpose of them is to use em and to protect the gear, are you really that extreme that you acquire them or is it purely for the "look" status?

dont get me wrong i know your off road beast is capable of 4wd but im the type of guy that says
if im gunna pay X amount for this to do that
then im def gunna get my monies worth

good luck with it all and HES55 where u at you might wanna hit the 4wd websites up and give a shout out etc :)

I would only wind your Torsion bars up enough to get a 1 1/2'' lift. Anything over that will dramatically wear all your componets. CV boots will wear very quickly and are a pain in the ass to replace.

HOON69
Post #259

what he said ^^^^^
over extending will kill the CV's etc

i noticed this a few times on my mates when he wound his front up on his IFS crapper :)

HOON69 what 4wd sites should i hit up....

and is it tru mt cotton and ormeau tracks are closed... ie... enforcement through boulders and spikes

HOON69
Post #266

its true that the above are closed
some of the hardcore wannabe will still venture out there but its def 100% closed and private property and both have clearly visible signs that reckless 4wd and bike riders rip down on a daily/weekly basis to try hinder any prosecution etc and yes some tracks do have obsticles to try disable vehicles etc
though they are still accessible the police do frequent them to patrol etc

Mt Cotton is shit anyways and Ormeau was only good if you had a decent capable rig to show of your master flex and crawling skills (nothing wrong with that of course)

if your after tech talk then go to
outerlimits4x4.com other then that its mainly off topic crapIPB Image

if you got a patrol then head to patrol4x4.com IPB Image

you would of heard about 4wdmonthly they are good for tech and advise on different things etc but good for wanting info on tracks etc IPB Image

overlander is also another alright website IPB Image

australia4wd forum is a site to see if your bored IPB Image

the best is downunder.net IPB Image no idiots unlike some others and has the same guys with tech talk etc and a great crew whom aint nazi power trippers etc

all the above are good websites though in their own right its personal preference in the end.

so how many times did you venture out to mt cotton, paradise road, ormeau and reedy creek? bit of a statement calling people like yourself, hardcore wannabies.

are we talking about past pretext or what and how it is right now.

did i say i was a angel?
what i did and what i do now are two different things i stopped as you'll didnt so whoms the real menace here?

i was stating how it is atm not how it was when I "used" to head to them, btw 1 time at reedy 1 Mt Cotton 2 to Ormeau 1 time at pac pines and paradise road LMFAO is that even a 4wd place cause all i see is dirt roads with slight camber bits inbetween.

thanx to some wannabe's that wrecked a ride or two and tried to sue the owners of Ormeau thats why its closed and you'll still flaunt with the new signs etc and mate i havent wheeled in a good 4 months so i CBF wasting my time arguing about where i used to wheel, the point is that ppl have been told to stay out of both places and that was only reinforced a few months ago and yet 4wd owners and bikes destroy the signs and continue to use the place as its their own and even start threads on these websites knowing its illegal to enter the grounds, btw if i do decide to go wheeling it'll be on public or private property with the consent of the owner/s and more then likely it'll be at designated 4wd parks or with a 4wd club.

so mt cotton it closed... thats sucks, i used to enjoy doing the hill climbs to the top...

HOON69
Post #270

its not closed as such you can get access etc but not legally as you may know
though the signs and occasional police presence should be enough to tell most that the neighbours might be getting abit peeved with the constant nuisance of revving vehicles etc

last i heard was the neighbours were writing down plates etc and ringing the police every time they saw a vehicle enter etc and some tracks have gone etc

Ormeau isnt as bad but tracks entry via water fall entry etc and most the good hard stuff is available except a few bits but most the lower tracks have been modified etc(dozed etc) and the owners have stressed to stay out and police have been notified noone is allowed in there etc

synergy
Post #271

i thougth mt cotton has been closed for ages since that little girl went missing, after that they were handing out massive 3g fines on the spot....

Reedy Creek
Ripleys
Mt Cotton
Logan Village
Paradise Road/Johnson Road
Ormeau
Kuraby
Pac Pines

all the above are officially out of bounds

logan village though does have a few tracks your allowed onto but the big boys love to do late night runs to try avoid the authorities etc

there are a few tracks as you may be aware at redbank plains im yet to hear if its legal or not
but i know that once my rig is up n running it wont be visiting any of the above i would prefer to waste my money and have fun in a designated spot like a 4wd park or a beach etc

Hoon69 -
every we drive is out of bounds Unless you have Premission to be there. Some owners of the prorety dont know we go there, some do, some don't care, soem are just clowns.

As for the night runs...........they rock!!!! Most of them are run by the Logan District's 4x4 Club.

Outer's is great!!
there is also -
www.ih8mud.com
www.pirate4x4.com
www.3rdrock4x4club.com
blah blah

but as clubs go i'm a member of the Logan Districts 4x4 club. If any one wants more info PM me.

Logan Club is also holding an EXTREME night run this saturday night... more info here - http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/viewtopic.php?t=89972
