Few highlights for me were.

- Steves top gear skids
- cressida skids
- manic 200b's gearbox breaking skid
- that light truck
- not knowing which side to watch when roweys car was pulling a skid.
- warney in his best shirt
- 20gle not breaking a box

I'll put my hand up for the next one, its a pity the WRX, Skyline or ET were not ready to race..... least my spot got put to good use biggrin.gif

I love skids too.. I want a shirt like Warney laugh.gif

Dont worry, next year the Holley is getting the flick and the good ol' Q'Jet is going back on..... so there will be none of this going back to the pits stuff! tongue.gif

30+ pfftttt...... i stuffed around half the day trying to get these shitty Holley carbs right, stopped for an hour's break to go and annoy the wife and have a feed and i still got 12 runs in!! tongue.gif
I'll be aiming for 35+ next year!! tongue.gif

What was everyones best reaction time?? After running crap ETs i tried to nail a good light to try and holeshot a few on most runs... best of .490! (.400 is perfect)

aww my slips are in the car, so i'll have to have a look later but i know i had a few reactions in the 0.400 bracket.

QUOTE(psi999 @ Nov 6 2006, 02:59 PM)

Straight cut syncro could be an option, it really depends on how much power you want to make and how fast you want to go.

Sounds like your all over it though, just do as much research as you can before laying down your hard earnt cash.

(fyi - a full 6-speed conversion your looking at about 5.5k (non DCCD sti 6-speed, and 5-speed automatic tailshaft (may also need a ratio change in your diff, but i've got one at home that will suit your car anyways haha)...... you'll never break it and will still be worth just as much in the future if you pull it out and want to sell it).

thanks for the help and advice smile.gif anything you can offer is much appreciated! gearboxes = big dollars and i don't want to screw it up!

i'm not really that much on top of it to be honest, have only really started thinking about it seriously since the most recent round of mods. i'm not quite up on all the ratio changes etc but i know it's something that has to be considered and so i plan to put as much research into this as possible. I'm still learning, but I do alright for a girl laugh.gif

Well, next time, as Ang has said, track prep will be included. So those who dont want to pay a little bit extra (for everyones safety) can give it a miss. Don't get me wrong, I'm in no way having a stab at you! Just wanted to give you the opinion's of those that need traction to make the day enjoyable and not spent trying to keep it off the wall.

Agreed. It was great seeing a few quick cars mixing it up. The FED was awesome, i could sit there and watch, smell and listen to cars like that fire up all day long!
The VHT would have helped everyone get that little extra bit of grip as well.

Highlight was seeing a few faces I hadn't seen in a long while!

Same here!
But it poses a problem..... i was starting to get out of it a bit and wasnt missing the car scene a great deal as i have other priorities in life now.... but after yesterday all i want to do is get out and tinker with the old girl a bit and i cant wait to get back up there and meet up and cruise with a few people just like the old days!!!

My best was a .480 or a .490 reaction?? It was against 20GLE on both accounts. I had to be on the ball racing the WRX... It was fun facesjump.gif

Jago, hate to tell ya dude, shade doesnt help much, i was in the shade all day and got burnt to fuckery

one of the highlights of the day for me was delliii chucking a little hissy fit about holding the pole most of the day, then just dropped it so the tarp landed over us all, and kurt (nutta) screaming "JUST PUT THE FUCKING TARP UP YOU FUCKER!!"

OMG! I saw that happen lol i was over in the stands a bit more. Jen and I just laughed at you all! biggrin.gif

Watch out for brocks SPOON UTE if theres a skid off! 5500rpm off the trans brake like wanye's 1jz silvia. shame spoon pulled the pin for the day would have cracked a ten for sure!

I ll be there next time for SURE! bigger and better then ever new diff and maybe even a C4 and transbrake!

craigs lancer (toxen) After that run burnt a oil line and under the bonnet caught fire! Maybe he dropped some fluid during the skid???? Could have been part the reason they booted him???

The car was a ex D1 drift winner (1st season i believe)

Yer I was told fluid was the reason

It wasn't the skid

Great day - Thanks Angela - Put me down for the next one.

I was a little dissapointed that I didn't get as many runs as I would have liked, only 27.

I can't complain about eight 10.0* second passes with a best of 10.04, which is a BP for me. If only I had an extra 0.05 seconds.

And a 10.1* from that slug yellow GSXR1000 is not too bad.

I for one am glad that the track was sprayed - and everyone should be (if only for safety sake for the racers under say 12 seconds), I am not sure what it costs to have the track prepared, however spread over 80 people is not much, or maybe charge a $5 entry fee for spectators to cover the cost (track prep = faster cars/bikes = more entertainment for the spectators etc)

80 entrants was a good number - I am sure everyone had the oportunity for plenty of runs.

It was an excellent day, even in a black leather sauna.

I was told it was his second warning for fluid. The first I'm told was disregarded.

Can we move on now?

I noticed the traction compound made a difference when compared to normal Test n' Tunes. I'd launch where I did that day and smoke the tyres, on sunday I had axle tramp then bog.... *waits for 4500rpm to roll around for boost*

nt for me i jsut peeled the slicks off the wheels

This spreadsheet is 3000 lines big ... it may not be up tonight unsure.gif

I gotta do some stuff to it and sort it etc ... see how long my eyes last

yeah i found it was still slippery as , last test n tune i went to , i did a complete run of 12's, 8 runs or so (12.46-12.93) and not one 13.

yesterday best of 12.80 was a bit off with most my runs in the 13's which is way off pace, id hate to imagine the track without the VHT on , all my 60foot times were way off aswell so it was pretty slippery so im guessing thats why i had slow passes combined with heat.

another thing for the track prep complainers, imagine a car losing it next to you because its not prepped and taking out your car with no liability for the damage...id be paying for VHT no matter what u race!

TuFFvs
