I have a mate that has a shitbox 86 hilux with a non running engine that he was going to scrap.
until the other day that he overheard me and some other mates talking about these v6 conversions
he thinks he is getting a free v6(Buick) (vp-vr) ??? and the conversion is only going to cost him $50 bucks cause he knows some fella who...... i dont know

this seems to easy and to cheap. hes a bit of a bullshitter. so yeah. whats the real deal

ive searched. but no i haven't found anything

huh.

Who says he can't get a vp vn engine for free if you know someone who just wants to get rid of it.
And who says he hasn't got a friend who can put it in for 50 bucks?

Mate its not about putting it in for 50 bucks the conversion kit to do it is gonna cost up wards of a grand depending on whether your going with the hilux box or commodore box, it is a lot of work and can end up costing a lot of money so many things u have to think of. i was thinking of doing the same conversion but after researching it i gave up due to cost.

sounds like one of them @#$!s who just talk shit their whole life, you could not buy the metal to make the engine mounts and cut n shut sump for 50 bucks. If he can get it done for that good on him. Then there is the shortening of the tailshaft and exhaust.
If your a gun at fabricating and you got the motor/box/computer for nothing it would still cost about a grand for welding consumables, wiring, fuel pump, return line, radiator, coolant oil etc, baiscally its all the little shit you dont think of that ends up blowing the budget.
That said the v6 commy is the best bang for buck conversion and is easily acheivable for 3 grand with the pat gardner v6 conversion kit-if you can weld.
