hey guys just brought a vt commodore.. and it's had a heavy duty battery put in within the past 6 months so that shouldn't be the problem.. but my battery keeps getting drained overnight and whenever i park for long periods of time(3hours+), i've only owned it for 3 days and it's been a massive pain in the ass

the car has zenon h.i.d.s
air bag suspension with a switch to turn the compressor off
and a big sound system powering 3 1000watt rms amps,

from what i've gathered and can understand the lights aren't left on which means the hids can't be draining it, and the compressor is switched off so that shouldn't be drawing power, and i thought the amps may be sucking power when it's off so i chopped the 0 guage wire that was running straight to the battery and hooked up some terminals and made a kill switch, so every time i turn the car off i can turn all the amps off completely and that works. Which leaves me here, pretty confused haha has anyone got any ideas what could be sucking the power constantly?

any help would be appreciated, thanks

it also has aftermarket electric seats, and when its off the light still flashes if i touch switches... so maybe they aren't wired to accesory? is there a fuse that i could remove to get rid of them?

What you need to do is turn the car off, then get an automotive fuse current reader. Pull fuses and plug the reader in, see what fuse has a lot of current going through it. That's where your problem is.

removed the fuse, it had a big aftermarket fuse type thing there... now only time will tell but if anyone has any ideas thanks

Yeah grab an amp meter, and check for current draw when the car is off, i am with hero on that one, unless you take it to a sparky. Check what runs with your alarm too, remember it does not have to be "ON" to be drawing current.

current clamp will find that very quickly. what alternator is on the car (stock? - I hope not!)
