Heya,

Recently bought a 89 Hilux ute (2wd, trayback) and the front end is rusty and fooked.
Trying to find possible front end conversions to give it a facelift...

I really like the conversion in the link below, but the guy cant even be fucked replying to my PM

04 conversion

If anybody knows about this conversion in particular or other possibilities for a conversion.. please post or PM

Cheers guys thumbsup.gif

that isn't a 04 front end, it's just a 04 sr5 bumper/apron, it's still rn85 panels, just with chrome grill.
I have seen a full n167 sr5 front conversion on a n85(full headlights instead of the old sealed beam style) but the front grill/headlight mounting look pretty messy under the hood.
if the front is that far fucked, have you though about swapping cabs with something newer? a bit of an involved job(fair bit more work and wiring) but it will definatley been different/fresher looking. Cab from a vzn167 would look sweet

Thanks for your help Mongrel thumbsup.gif

From your post I seem to understand (please correct me if I am wrong) that my vehicle is a "n85" ?
Im afraid I dont know my luxes for sh#t... so Im just looking for a new bumper/grill upgrade
I just assumed it would require a bonnet and guards to make it all fit

The cab on my lux is still really good, so Im just looking at grill/bumper/headlight and possibly guards/bonnet to change

Preferably something that can bolt directly on, but if I have to fab a few brackets or something it wont be a problem

I know you can mix and match some parts, perhaps you can offer a combination?

Cheers.

at that age you're luxie should be either a YN85 for the 1.8(slant motor) or RN85 for the 2.4 (OHC motor)
If you want that look, get a VZN167 4WD front bar(comes chrome with larger apron) and a xN85 chrome grills/headlight surround.
If you search Ebay you'll find them in kits.

edit: add some LN106 guards if you want some extra width

Yeah my ute is the 2.4.. 22R I think... but it is getting scrapped for a 202 Red and auto.
I saw that ebay front end the other day... but is that pricey for what it is as opposed to buying the pieces from a wreck?

And if Im not mistaken.. the LN106 would be off a toyota surf? oopsie.gif

Thanks again for your help thumbsup.gif
