Ahhhh all you V8 racing fans out there.... I reckon Ambrose will take "King Of The Mountain" this year. I'm just hoping Skaife spins out or something bad happens to him. Hate that guy.

Meh.. This year the title will be Skaifes.. all his bad luck has come out already this year. Has he finished a race yet?? lol

Agreed! If it's not Skaife it will be Murphy/Kelly, Bright or Richards.

It will be a Holden tho that much you can count on! F*^# have no chance biggrin.gif tongue.gif , in fact they would have a better chance wining in a certain green XE Falcon laugh.gif

lol Rick.. sif the XE could do a lap... you can just see the weight of the mighty tank getting behind it over the dipper and it launching straight into the concrete wall... come to think of it... hasnt that happened to a green ford before? maybe driven by one Dick Johnson? not to mention the Rock, the Trees, blahblah... Ford will just be lucky to finish the race, let alone first , second or third.

You could make Ambrose race in a golf buggy and he'll still be competitive!
Easily the best driver out there, and the best team at the moment, and the current Fords are much better than the current Holden in my eyes.

I know you're only a young tacker, so I dont 'spose you'd remember what bathurst started out as until the V8 boys got sick of the competition.
Its MEANT to be a production car race, for ALL production cars.

But its the same now as it was 20-odd years ago. The mini coopers embarassed the big boys back then as well, but the difference was, the big boys didnt ban them for winning.

I have watched bathurst every year (without fail) for over 20 years so dont try and tell me what Bathurst *should* be.

Cybertech: in regards to Nissan Vs Holden, refer the the Bathurst 24hr... i think Holden came up trumps.

Hahaha yes im quite aware that the "big boys" got their arses handed to them on a platter, but in my opinion i think bathurst is a better event as ford vs holden, as you honestly dont know who wins,

if the imports were to be reintroduced they would be the ones to constantly keep taking first place


So with ur opinion do u think that V8 supercars should have the imports in every event, eg qld raceway etc, or just bathurst

Neither are the V8 supercars, restricted to 5ltr engines, and last time i checked the VY came with a 5.7 and the BA with a 5.4

Surely 1400 KG barges with engines based on 100 year old technology (pushrods, etc) cant be classed as "cutting edge" and need to be upgraded or replaced.

OK, if the V8 series was marketed as a "vintage race series" then they would fit right in and could happily rock and roll their way around, but this is meant to be Australias premier motorsport competition and we're stuck with dinosaurs.

Some of the fastest cars in the world use that "old pushrod" technology.
